How do you know when the people you are chasing a dream with share your motivation and mindset? When you have a risky batshit idea like I did recently that required time, collaboration, and energy from everyone to execute. An idea that could either work spectacularly, be a total waste of time, or backfire just as spectacularly. You know your team believes in it when, despite crunch time day jobs, they have each other’s backs, work everything out, and deliver exactly what I proposed to them in just a matter of days.
And if executing a random idea perfectly and on the fly isn’t reason enough to love these guys our lead artist let me know we were all on the same crazy risk taking page when he delivered his work with the simple line, “Let the shitstorm begin.”
Our lead programmer had been fired up recently cranking on the next update when he casually mentioned, “I kinda wish we had this one animation we could use to pay respect to the old AKI games. Our artist was working on some other animation for us at the time and wasn’t sure if he could squeeze in the programmers request. But less than 48 hrs later he gave us the animation saying he was surprised how quick and easy it actually was to do. Programmer is super happy he gets to add a personal wishlist item to the game.
Then I’m sitting here looking over a bunch of new art assets our artist delivered a few months ago when it hits me. If we take the new core mechanic the programmer is adding and combine it with these seemingly unrelated art assets…we’ve got a highly requested new match type that I’m sure no other game has! Life hands you more than enough shit and obstacles. But sometimes, if you just back away a bit and look at everything you have available to you, you see there are blessings and opportunities staring you right in the face.
Thank you to the Pro Wrestling X crew for giving us beautiful pieces to a fun new puzzle I didn’t even realize we had.

Quote of the Week
“The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.” – Amelia Earhart
