Great crew meeting a few days ago. It’s been a while since we’ve all been able to get together and it doesn’t look like it will be getting any easier any time soon. Everyone is in crunch mode at their day jobs and lucky if even an hour or two can be found during the week for Pro Wrestling X work. This schedule is looking to lighten up a little this month and some pretty tough decisions were made in order to get certain areas rolling along better.
An eye opening bit of truth and honesty was put forward by our lead artist concerning the amount of work required to leave Early Access. Even in its most humble form, void of any extra feature creep or unnecessary development, our lead art animal has his hands full. Just to get Pro Wrestling X to a small but reasonably ‘complete’ package and out of Early Access he estimates the following work remains on his end:
- 26 CAW items (Tops, tights, etc)
- 6 more complete roster members
- 60 core animations
- 2 complete weapon classes
- 3 additional venue types
- 5 Match type additional required assets (Cage, Battle Royal, Scaffold, Tag, Tables)
On paper this may not look like much. But when you realize that ALL of these assets are the sole responsibility of one very talented and very dedicated PWX crew member who can only work on this in his spare time…kinda daunting. I don’t say all of this to be in any way negative in fact TOTALLY the opposite. I put this out there to shine a light on how much hard work this tiny little team, and our lead artist for sure, cranks out with passion and dedication you don’t see in a lot of other places.
You can also see just why I’m chasing every opportunity to get our lead crew members back to work on PWX full time as soon as possible. And that’s another topic entirely. Because it’s not like I can just offer these guys enough pay to finish this list to get out of Early Access. They need to be able to actually walk away from their current day jobs for a reasonably long secure period of time. Money won’t buy anyone any more spare time to get more PWX work done. We need these animals locked in a dungeon to work on PWX full time for a good long time.
We’ve managed to do that before and we’ll do it again. This world is full of unheard of opportunity and possibility for those willing to show up and get ‘er done. Until then we take whatever steps, no matter how small, that we can. Every game gets built one pixel at a time and even in the busiest shittiest week we get one step closer 🙂
THANK YOU for your kind patience and support!
All Belts Strategy
This video is funny enough on it’s own, but how many of you actually used this strategy/exploit to get all of the championship belts in WCW/NWO Revenge? I’m not ashamed to admit it…I totally did this once I realized how easily repeatable it was.
Thanks for sharing the link, Jesse!
Question of the Week
What’s the FIRST and/or most important wrestler you create in CAW when you get a new wrestling game? Is it:
- A ‘real’ wrestler like Kenny Omega, Eva Marie, etc?
- An original wrestler of your own creation?
- Some version of yourself?
THANK YOU for taking the time answer this question for me. Participation of a potential private investor might depend one of us being right about this 😉
Quote of the Week
“I always tell my kids if you lay down, people will step over you. But if you keep scrambling, if you keep going, someone will always, always give you a hand. Always. But you gotta keep dancing, you gotta keep your feet moving.” – Morgan Freeman
