All I'm asking is, while in the grapple state(since you are using one grapple button to go into different catagories) have it so you can switch through the catagories. Lets say you engage right and grapple and realize your move isnt in that. You should be able to hold left, grapple, and a shoulder button to switch to the other
Altering your grapple mid grapple. Lets say you accidentally press right and grapple and want to switch to left and grapple. How about having it so if you press lets saw L1 while holding grapple and left you will switch to it.(complicated to explain)
Altering grapple state from a standard grapple. I'd like so you could switch from a standing grapple to making them sit, a back grapple, fake out, and irish whipping from grapple.
In the grapple system may I suggest a control layout.
One button for strikes(like normal gameplay). One button for the grapples.(like normal gameplay) One button for Irish whip(again... liken normal gameplay, lol.) And the last face button for altering grapple states.(Down to make them sit, left or right to switch to back grapple, and I guess up to fake them out.)
For back grapples may I suggest having the same system as stated above.
Now... One more little suggestion I'd like to see... Grapple taunts... Such as kanes glove thing, shouting, trash talking, etc.
I understand it might be a little complicated, but i think it seems simple enough. I'd imagine this is very alike to whats already being implimented, but yeah... Contribute guys!
At this stage this is how the Xbox 360 controller buttons are mapped for PWX: A = Strikes B = Grapples Y = used mainly for running & climbing X = used for picking up objects & other minor actions
Strikes & Grapples are blocked & reversed with shoulder buttons & the right analogue stick is for taunting.
The only moves done outside of grapples are standard strikes & finishers.
There are no Absolutes…the more damage you do to your opponent the greater your chances of executing a finisher. Finishers can be attempted at any time but the odds of them being successful go up dramatically the more crap has been beaten out of your opponent. Grapple finishers will always be possible even if only a 1% chance at times. (Striking finishers like Sweet Chin Music haven’t been implemented yet though.
Also the button layout on the controllers can be customized.
After you initiate a grapple you can either perform a move or switch grapple positions. So far the only other position is a back grapple but that will definitely be expanded upon before the first PWX is released.
yes that is another thing that i liked about No Mercy is the fact that you could switch grapple positions. I also remember one of those THQ/AKI games giving you the choice of putting your opponent up on you shoulders or holding their arms for double team moves
