BUILD UPDATE

Hey guys! Good progress to report. We completed two new Uprising builds since last newsletter and ironed out a lot of mainly collision issues. I'm very happy with the way everything behaves now especially outside of the ring.
There is a very tight spot though behind the ring next to the stairway that is causing nagging headaches. There just isn't enough room to do big moves back there without wrestlers having to slide noticeably in and out of position to avoid getting stuck in objects.
If I could go back in time I'd have more room added to the level in that area but it's too late to do that. We can't just move the ring forward either because it would screw up a lot of the math in the game engine that was coded around players' positions relative to the center of the ring.
Other than that though everything just works better. Even submission animations which were previously wonky got ironed out. One submission got broken with a recent build update, the Sharpshooter. No way I'm shipping a Canadian made wrestling game without a Sharpshooter, so I'm going to fix it even it if means a few days of messing with just that move to get it right.
The Sharpshooter attacker's rotation is offset because of a solution that fixed rotation problems in eight other submissions. Game development=whack-a-mole.
We're just busting our asses getting this stuff fixed so we can finally dump it all into the updated graphics build that smooths out the blocky characters before I post new screenshots and videos.
PATRIOT ACT

Thanks for voting for Troop's finisher name! The clear winner was Patriot Act and it's now official. Now, if Troop were to be in a tag team one day would we have to name it...Controlled Demolition?

YOU SPIN ME RIGHT ROUND

We must be doing something right. I was showing current game play to crew members this week and while I was apologetic about what I thought were critical failures. In all cases crew members popped for the updated game play (and new rotating camera angles during for submissions) and in one case even suggested we post footage to Youtube.
I pointed out that there were obvious glaring issues that still needed fixing before making it public and that everyone should look a little closer. And in every case crew responded that they had no idea what I was talking about and that the game play looked good. So either I`m wrong and being a totally anal meathead or I am the guardian of all that is quality and awesomeness. I`ll pretend it`s the latter.
