Curious if anyone else as gotten a chance to play the demo for the new WWE ALL-STARS game?
My first impression when I saw the early videos of this game was that it was made for kiddies, but as the game progressed I could see it was beginning to become a good alternative to the wrestling simulation genre.
After playing the demo for several hours, I can say I haven't had this much FUN in this type of "wrestling" game since WWF Wrestlefest. This game is a complete over-the-top wrestling/fighting hybrid.
In the demo you get to play as the Ultimate Warrior or Rey Mysterio, both were really fun to play as. Each with their own unique set of moves. Rey Rey flying all over the ring and Warrior just smacking the bageebus out of Rey. I thought the graphics were great for the art style. The game gives a great sense of impact.
This game is definitely NOT a wresting simulation, it's a quick, pick-up and play type wrestling game. It's just plain FUN. I had a great time.

The videos make it seem more like a Mortal Kombat-sort of game. Some people will probably enjoy that style of play. I'm most comfortable with the THQ/AKI grapple-style. I was not comfortable playing the older Acclaim WWE games, where I have to remember button combinations to execute a move.
I played it and it was certainly fun but I'll wait for the price to drop before purchasing. Still waiting for the AAA Lucha game to drop to $20. Hovering around $30 still here in Canada.
I didn't try the demo of WWE 12 All Stars but I don't want to judge a game without playing it first. My favorite wrestling games have always been the THQ/AKI grapple-style wrestling games like Wrestlemania 2000 & No Mercy.
