    Hello PWX!

I am a big fan of your work! Not only that, it's a part of my vision too. I am currently involved in an efed that has been around for almost 7 years and have been looking for a new platform to do their thing exclusively. I don't want to break any rules or anything and post the site here, so I ask for a confirmation to post the site.

It's not one of those free sites that people do on proboards and whatnot, it's a .com community that has been paid for for that length of time and have seen zero profit. I feel that with our creative idea we could help back your product and revolutionize wrestling and the gaming community.

    Thanks for reading!

Welcome! Please feel free to post a link to your e-fed site. We don't mind a link every now and then as long as it doesn't become to often or obnoxious.

    Cheers!
    Dave

    Cool.

The website is http://www.OCWFED.com/ Like I said before, it's been around for almost 7 years now and the community is thriving. We are currently working on the Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 platform but that won't allow us to expand unless we go into business with Vince McMahon which I don't think anyone wants to do. We have two shows put together in the form of chapters by the General Managers and the owner of the site, Jaysin Sensation. We also have rules to accommodate stupid game tactics, so it's not your average efed.

I also forgot to mention that I am a digital artist currently attending Full Sail University for my Bachelors degree, so advertising is my thing. I specialize in motion graphics but I'm pretty much a jack of all trades. I've done some 3DS Max modeling, mostly just level and object creation and I've done a little bit of character modeling and animation. I really respect the work PWX does because I know how tedious it can be.

Hi Dane. I too am looking forward to starting a efed based around PWX. I used to be a part of an efed back in 04-07 and I was hoping get them to jump to PWX. But that ship sank (friggin loved that efed). Haven't efedded since. Maybe we'll be in competition? ;D

Competition is what it's all about right?

We are currently on the path to our showcase event, Wrestlution 6, which will take place on April 10th (roughly). It's sure to set a benchmark for the new generation and the new direction the fed has taken.

At the beginning of this year, OCW introduced a new concept that allowed anyone to join and compete on a show called Ambition. The concept being, that if management sees something special in you then you will be called up to the main roster and compete on Riot. Through the years, Riot has featured some of the most legendary wrestlers ever seen in OCW, such as Nate Ortiz, Nick Kage, Blake Ma'Jin, Versus... the list goes on. This is your chance to create your own legacy, and so far the Ambition experiment has proven successful.

Since implementing the new concept, OCW has seen a great influx in talent, and with already a few guys called up to the main roster! Some would say that this is the best OCW has been since it's inception in 2005 until 2008, where people began losing interest in the way the Smackdown vs. Raw game played. We're doing pretty well for ourselves now, but because of how often the game changes and how we constantly have to switch games every year, there may come a time again where people begin to lose interest again. Not to say that it will happen, but an alternative needs to be introduced.

I've been working on an idea for that alternative since I first started efeding. I've been a wrestling fan all my life, but I've always really enjoyed the creative side to things: taking a wrestler, giving him a character and a fighting style, and seeing how people react to him. It's an art form that I know many of us really enjoy. But then I look at the world around me and I see wrestling shows on TV that I don't enjoy and video games that still have so many flaws, and I want to change that. Wrestling fans have to admit that the product has become stale no matter where you watch it, and many more including those people would agree that the wrestling industry and wrestling fans haven't been treated well by the general public. All the drug and steroid abuse in the 80s and 90s, and the staggering number of wrestlers that have died from that time to today, has put a negative damper on the term "Professional Wrestling". Because of this, wrestling fans are a dying breed today, and have been for years.

So what do you do to better the product? One side thinks that an anonymous GM, celebrity guest hosts, and a midget is the answer. Another side thinks scooping up what the other company regurgitated and throwing it on TV is the answer. I think that these are both good ideas, but they aren't universal ideas. One side appeals to the kids, the other appeals to those kids' grandfathers. Why is it that there's such a big gap in the middle of televised wrestling's demographic?

My idea is to not only fill that gap, but to give some stabilization to the bridge (so to speak) as a whole. All wrestling needs is a new concept to evolve it's product and bring back it's fan base. Wrestling isn't lame, it's not boring, it's just that the people who have been doing it for years have lost touch with it's demographic because the new generation and the way technology has progressed. Professional wrestling needs to roll with evolution and that's a major thing that's holding it back. Sure the product has gotten into video games and the internet, not to mention it's been on television for decades. Professional wrestling NEEDS efeds to put the pieces of the puzzle together! WWE has always rejected the efeding community for years, shutting down so many sites and that has caused a huge disconnect between wrestling and those fans.

So this leads me to my point, PWX and OCW can be those two pieces that come together to revolutionize the wrestling industry. Think of all the positivity that it implies, reading (like role plays and promos), creativity (writing your own storylines, developing your character, etc.), writing (the promos and role plays) communication with other members, working together as a team, presenting entertainment from the people who are true fans of wrestling and depending on their age, generating a wide range for it's target audience.

So with a little hard work, determination, and the teaming of OCW and PWX, the two companies can be successful and quite possibly see a little revenue. The talent that OCW possesses is incredible. The people in OCW are real people, they have successful metal bands, successful rap bands, musical talent, design skills, booking skills, ideas, ideas, and more ideas. Putting these skills together with the skills that the guys at PWX have plus the passion for wrestling would create virtual magic.
  4.
I'm come to you guys as but a member of OCW. I don't take credit for the success OCW has seen, in fact I'm lucky to even be part of OCW. I won't get into that and my immature past that once got me kicked out of OCW, but I learned from my mistake and have a new direction in life. But I also come to you with a vision, one which I hope is tangible some day.

    Thanks for reading again!

Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts! I agree that there is something in the future for online wrestling gaming and e-feds. I'm just not entirely sure what a successful version of that future would look like just yet. For now, our focus is on polishing up a solid single player experience before we can even begin to feel confident enough to look at adding features to take full advantage of e-fedding. I can see it happening down the road, though, so lets keep an eye on it.
  5.
Well while down that road, if you need help with anything advertising wise, then I offer my services to you. I have a piece of advertising that uses Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 CAW to make a promotional piece involving my OCW character. I designed it using Adobe After Effects, 3DS Max, and Photoshop. This is just a sample of my work, but just like before I don't want to break any boundaries by posting a video here, so I'll again ask for your permission for that.

Now that's that magic of creative modes in video games. That was sweet.

It's funny your efed is called OCW because my old efed was at first called OCW also. It stood for Original CAW Wrestling. It was originally a WWE Day of Reckoning e-fed. But we eventually moved on, changed the name to UGP (Underground Pro) & abandoned the games partially. We had some issues that manifested itself in the end of the e-fed so all agreed in best interests to shut it down. Our philosophy was that we wanted to have the stories and characters to be what we wanted out of wrestling. So we did just that. I hope when I start a new e-fed that it would have the spirit of that e-fed with the use of new technology available.

I think the future of gaming seems to be about creativity, seeing games like Little Big Planet and Minecraft get so popular. People just want to create their own experiences in a simple and easy way. I think the future in wrestling games might be in creativity. We've had creative games in the past but I think this time around it's because of the ease of getting multiplayer in it is what's making it grow. Not many like to create alone because it feels pointless. But put a bunch of people together and they will create.

If e-feds can merge with wrestling videogames in a good way and not in the same old lame way, we could see something awesome happen. I'm not putting any future version of PWX in this pedestal, but hopefully there will be a game that recognizes this.

    Cool vid!

I agree with the concept of a PC wrestling game more as a platform for creativity than a closed representation of wrestling as deemed worthy by the developers.
