I have some ideas I would like to share.

Be them in Uprising or in the expansion packs, I would love to see these in the game:

    Create-A-Fan

Create-A-Superstar (For those still learning 3d Modelling)

Create-A-Firework (You know. Like fog or sparks.)

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks for sharing your ideas!

Create-a-fan: When we have crowds and fans in PWX I don't see why we couldn't easily give you access to all of the crowd textures to mod at will.

Create-a-Superstar: Do you mean an actual 3D modeling function within the PWX game? That's probably something beyond our resource limits at least for the moment.

Create-a-firework: This is actually possible. But it would mean that we create our own particle effects system and give you access to edit the variables. We can do this.

    Thanks again!
  2.
    Your welcome.

Can you allow us to edit the models of the fans? Because thats what I meant by Create-A-Fan.
  3.
Another thing I just thought of.

Is there ever going to be a "model submission/request" section of the forum?

I think from lack of site updates and lack of videos, this game has been cancelled! Nice idea though.

It's canceled?! Why didn't anyone tell me!!!

@MrOpenSource: If for whatever reason we can't let people easily mod the 3D models themselves we will definitely accept requests.

Wow, it's been a long time since I checked out the PWX forums. I came across lilcube's forum the other day.

    Idea concerning character creation:
Of course, we will create our own characters with meticulous details (appearance, movesets, etc). I was thinking about creating additional non-spotlight characters without resorting to too much detail. I was thinking about "Random" creation buttons.

Basicallly create a character in 4 steps:
    1. Click a button for random appearance attributes
    2. Click another button to populate movesets
    3. Click again for a set of taunts, entrance style, etc
    4. Name your character

You never know; we could come up with some pretty interesting characters. They might even end up as a favorite.

    Hey! Welcome back!

I like your idea of quickly setting up basic characters. I like how one game (was it Day of Reckoning?) let you choose from a list of common wrestler-types to give you a head start. Brawler, High Flyer, Technician, etc. It would populate the character with appropriate moves, attributes, AI, etc.

Oh, and then we could add this to the game for random name generation LOL:

I hope the game isn't cancelled.

The game has never been canceled. Ever. It's been slowed down and fubared a few times but as long as I'm awake and breathing the game is in development.
  5.
    Ok good.

Let's all hope for the best out of this game.

@PWX_Dave: Keep truckin'. We're all countin' on you.

"I think from lack of site updates and lack of videos, this game has been cancelled! Nice idea though. "

I don't want to get modded or banned my first week posting here. But anyone ignorant enough to come onto a developers forum and announce the game "cancelled" has to be one of the dumbest sacks of toenail clippings to ever set foot in a forum. What's wrong with you? Have you been following the newsletters? Do you know how to read? The PWX team has been updating us every week good news or bad. Oh boohoo they haven't updated a website. We can count on them letting us behind the scenes every dang week (how many other companies do that?) only to have some tool come here and disrespect their honest efforts.

I'm no blind sheep PWX fanboy. But at least I respect them for trying and for showing up every damn week to face the music and tell us how it is.

@ Hoffey: Yeah, ok you go with that!

This game is a myth. Ban me or not but since 2002 this game has been in development. Get with it people seriously! Now nothing against you Dave or your team because you guys do seem to be trying but not even a demo??? 9 years and no demo.

After like 11 years we are finally getting a new Duke Nukem game.

Not trying to fight or be disrespectful but a few weeks ago we get like a 15 second 3ds max like animation vid and you deem it as a gameplay clip?

Since 2007 much like alot of people who have been following this game are promised a release of either the demo or Uprising and we just keep getting disappointed. So far I have counted like 3 Christmas`s awaiting a release of some kind and NOTHING. You know yourself Dave that you have promised us sometimes a release of the game coming out or a demo in a matter of a few weeks. What gives? Just my two cents.

And then Dave you mention watching a gameplay clip with your brother and you don`t show us the same clip? You show us that 15 second sorry excuse for a gameplay clip. C`mon man!

You guys can chew me out I don`t care just trying to tell it like it is.

How about some video interviews with your team? More gameplay clips and more photos? I mean the "PWX Uprising" facebook page had TONS more photos than the regular "PWX" facebook page.

Oh gawd. Did Dave or someone on the PWX crew rape you in the face or something? Because it would take that level of trauma to render a person as obviously comprehensively impaired as you are.

    FACTS:

-There we never any "promises" made with regard to a release date. "We hope to release by" does not translate into "we promise" in any language, including troll.
-That new movie clip was posted to show us all why the game still needed work. It wasn't a promotional trailer. Did you read the notes and explanation of that video when they posted it? Can you read?
-You honestly believe you're entitled to see everything Dave shows his immediate family? Think pretty highly of yourself hey little fella!
-"3d Max vid"? Oh please tell me you just accused Dave on his own forum of posting a fake gameplay clip. Please please please.

Did you pre order PWX? Did you ask for your money back? If you didn't pre order anything then what in holy hell makes you entitled to be such a whiny demanding little man?

I've been following this project for as long as anyone and if you care enough about PWX to come here and cry about it maybe you should care enough to read the newsletters where they explain exactly what they've been doing all this time. And while you do that maybe you can do everyone here a favor and show us all where Dave promised release dates and demos for PWX. Go ahead, we'll wait....

If you really do have a learning disability then I apologize.

    @ Hoffey

You must be mentally ill to talk so vile about someone you don`t even know. Besides my questions were directed towards Dave not you.

You got 2 guys Mat Dickie and David Horn who each both made wrestling games on their own. "On their own". They did not have the luxury of having crew members and it did not take them 9 + years to release a wrestling game, more like 2 years tops!

    @ Hoffey
Where`s your smart arsed answer about that genuis???

I think as a consumer it is fair to show us the same clips that the producer shows to anyone else.

@Dave you don`t owe any of us a damned thing, I think you`re a nice guy. I think though, you may not like me after this. You may even ban me (or someone from the site maybe will). I just wanna say to you I think you have/had a great idea but something, somewhere.........somehow you may have bitten off more than you can chew getting yourself involved in making this game.

On a final note, I hope the game does comes out soon and I am dead wrong! I will come back and be the first to apologize.

Ok, I'm not going to ban anyone but why don't you both take a little break from posting here until you settle down?

Lchr, I can handle all the honest criticism anyone can throw my way. But I'm going to pretend you didn't just accuse this crew and I of posting fake gameplay videos. Because if you did I would be hurt and insulted and that's not the way you've ever been treated by me, is it? Go ahead and keep asking me honest questions and I'll keep giving honest answers.

Hoffey, you're new here and while I obviously appreciate you coming to our defense with facts the tone with which you did it was unacceptable. Please refrain from personal attacks or do not post.

    Thank you!

Alright if you say it was a real gameplay video I believe you. You`re right I will settle down. It is true you don`t owe us anything. I guess I just need to blow off some steam. I do apologize to you and the crew. I still kinda think you might have bit off more than you can chew, I hope not though.

Sure, I can appreciate the need to vent and blow off steam. And I can take good natured ribbing as long as it's constructive. Case in point, "I still kinda think you might have bit off more than you can chew". Oh hell YES I agree with this opinion! We would not be in this position today if we had just committed to making a much much smaller game. Which is why I have so much respect for guys like Dave Horn who started by making the smallest little Shockwave game before even attempting something Action Arcade Wrestling. Even Mat Dickie made tons of itty bitty little 2D games before tackling 3D. And even STILL the latest games by either gentleman has core gameplay mnechanics with only a fraction of the depth I designed for Uprising. Those guys did it right and took baby steps. They should be commended. I bit off more than I could chew. That's a fact. Thankfully I've got people helping me now that can pull all of that together and if you guys like we'll have a solid foundation to really start whipping up expansions and sequels.

See, that's an honest discussion I can have with you guys and I'm happy to do so. Coming here and accusing me of lying about fake gameplay videos and PWX being a canceled "myth" is something I expect from little punk trolls. Not here. Thank you.

And on that note I'll be posting one or two new screens on our Facebook page later tonight.

Am I the only one that plans on nerding out and creating my own wrestling mega-verse when the full PWX comes out? I think not! Anything you guys can do to make that a reality is a must. For me, the graphics don't have to be the best, but if I can feel like I'm watching a live broadcast of RAW would be sweet. Now, I realize you most likely won't have match commentary, unless we put it in ourselves. Same thing with the blood, my dream of wrestling on a dried bloody mat from an earlier match is probably out the window. :( But would it be possible to not only have a fight in the crowd, but enter through the crowd like DDP and Edge used too? Also, I kind of liked how SvR 2011 used the 'hot tag' thing, could you guys put your own spin on it?

I'm with you totally as far as creating mega content goes. It will be a while though before we can shift our focus away from game play and towards other fun stuff like crowd entrances and tag mechanics.
