Dave stated that there would be a couple of Unlockable Characters in the game based on real people. I was thinking about who I would like to have. I though about maybe, if there is a touring mode, having one person unlockable from each area of the globe. Lets say, Canada, we would unlock, Bret Hart, Or from Japan, Hayabusa, Or from the US, Stone Cold. But since there will be a ton of CAWs for this game anyway. Maybe this would be all rooted in vain. But who would you like to see as an unlockable real "fake" character?
I like hacksaw's idea about unlocking a character at each part of the globe. I would rather see Goldberg than stone cold though. Bret Hart yes... I like any of the "made up characters" from WCW revenge, I would rather use them than some of the real wrestlers in the game
Even though those made-up characters were in fact ridiculous re-costumes of REAL LIFE wrestlers. I mean, who would have expected Mil Mascaras to become BRICKOWSKI?? Or Toshiaki Kawada to become a full-fledged SHOGUN?? (But let's face it, Jumbo Tsuruta becoming Frankenstein's Monster and Misawa becoming AKI/THQ Man were pretty much givens. In fact, the ONLY ones that looked anything like their REAL wrestlers were Dr. Death/Jekel (just a rename there), Hayabusa/Han Zo Mon and Atsushi Onita/Dake Ken. At least World Tour simply renamed them from VPW1...(Manami Toyota/Black Widow RULES!)
You know what game was awesome? WCW vs the World. That was the first wrestling game I truly LOVED. I loved unlocking Tiger Mask in that game, he was awesome.
my favorite was (not sure what the wrestlers real name that he was inspired from was) Hannibal ...sorry my spelling sucks. I try to recreate him but can never get him down with any of the smackdown games
I'm not a fan of unlockables personally. I'd rather have everything available to me from the start. I don't think this detracts from the replayability of a wrestling game, if the game has a strong CAW mode. Building up your own roster from CAWs is time consuming enough, but having to unlock moves for them to use (per smackdown) is just frustrating ;)
I'm probably in the minority on this.. If you're going to do unlockables tho, I ask that they be done in such a way as to no detract from the ability of someone like me to just jump in and start making our own promotion.
I think the only things that should be unlockable are things like hidden videos (like behind the scenes stuff), artwork etc. Leave all the important stuff available asap.
Hannibal in WCW World Tour was Hayabusa. You use red Sabu pants (not really that possible in SmackDOWN!) with a gold belt, white ninja socks, and those last wristguards turned black. It's very difficult to replicate the falcon's mask in SmackDOWN! but RAW 2 and Legends of Wrestling, oddly enough, have it in exact form.
