1) Make it Pretty ************** I showed some recent gameplay footage to my brother this morning and he thought it looked really good until I pointed out all the little things we still wanted to improve. "Oh yeah," he admitted. "You'd probably want to fix that if you could." We can and we are. We haven't taken a day off since Christmas day. We're getting Uprising into the "Make it Pretty" stage on some other things. This week we started cleaning up character textures and making everything consistent from one character to the next. With respect to gameplay we're still working hard on the "make it work well" stage and no problems there this week.
2) Slip and Slide ************* Woohoo! Now we have our collision resolution performing nicely. This is the thang that makes wrestlers subtly slide away from the ropes during a grapple move so we don't have body parts slicing through ring ropes. Now in a perfect world we'd have real time physics happening that would affect the moves instead of just sliding them away to avoid glitches. Imagine turning a drop suplex into a slingshot suplex just by being close to the ropes on purpose? Yeah, that's the kinda game I want this to be. Speaking of ropes we're also working on making them shake with mat impact (finally) today and bend out of the way properly when otherwise interacted with. And it's actually going pretty well! I'm told to expect all of that finished this weekend. Happy dance!
