Welcome to Wrestling Gamers United Newsletter #446
1) Eh-I 2) Code 3 3) New Fire Pro! Sorta!
1) Eh-I ******************* If the delay in releasing Uprising has a silver lining it's that it's giving me the chance to completely redesign the AI and damage systems. Our previous build of Uprising had perfectly believable AI but it was pretty single-minded. The CPU character would simply try to beat the crap out of you and win the match. And moves were simply assigned a base amount of damage regardless of which character was performing them or to whom (who?). This is one area I definitely look to Fire Pro for inspiration more so than the AKI games. Now each move takes into account the various stats and skills of each wrestler as well as the defensive parameters of the opponent when calculating damage. And there will now be some different behavior depending on whether a wrestler is more concerned with winning or entertaining. It's basic and still light years away from the Fire Pro system but it's a step in the right direction for those looking to give their wrestlers a little personality.
2) Code 3 **************** If you've been having fun with Action Arcade Wrestling on Xbox 360 lately you may have encountered a "Code 3" error that crashed the game when editing wrestlers or arenas. No worries, a fix has been issued for the problem and it should be available shortly as soon as it passes the super-awesome-and-not-at-all-random-or-inconsistent peer review process. The patch is also coming with a nice surprise in the form of two new grapple control schemes. Nice!
3) New Fire Pro! Sorta! *************************** Microsoft Game Studios Vice President Phil Spencer recently shared some info regarding the new Fire Pro game coming to Xbox Live. Here are the highlights:
- Avatars only - "Fire Pro Wrestling" a temporary title, not final.
I'm willing to bet my WCW Valentine card collection that the game is released as "Avatar Wrestling" and allows zero logic editing.
In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of Wrestling Gamers United. Thank you for your support, Dave Wishnowski

...is talking about getting free reward points (which can be traded in for MS points, which can be used to purchase AAW) by signing up with Bing Search, and Dave Horn still gets paid when those points get used to buy AAW! Support Dave and AAW by doing what ZOMG! says in this thread.
I can't, because I don't have X-Box Live (so those points wouldn't matter to me), but anyone who CAN, SHOULD.
I can't wait for the AAW update to go live. My Xbox doesn't like the arena edit and it crashes every time. Dave says it's fixed though and just waiting for patch approval.
