    1) Designer vs. Programmer Round 2
    ***************
Settle an argument for me. There are some instances where we have very few moves animated. Back turnbuckle grapple position for example. There are maybe three moves animated for this position. One crew member says we should just give each character one move and divide the limited moves up so that each character retains some uniqueness. Another crew member says why limit the players' freedom? He says most gamers would rather each character have more of the same moves than less moves per character. What would you do if it was your call? Smaller but more unique player movesets or larger but more similar movesets? Shoot me an email or comment on our Facebook page and thanks for your input!

    2) Axe Bomber
    ****************
Wow! You gotta see this. A group of wrestling gamers mainly from the Fire Pro community recently put together an online e-magazine and I absolutely love it. They put together some really entertaining and clever articles and also gave a lot of support to the indie wrestling game scene with a spread on Action Arcade Wrestling and other indie games in development. You'll probably recognize some of the contributors like Tromataker who does the killer Lucha Libre for Gringos Youtube videos and even Dave Walsh (Spunkwhy) who contributed a rather poignant article about how he ironically doesn't really like wrestling games anymore. Apparently the future of the mag is up in the air so I beg you all to email the creators (address on their site) and let them know you appreciate their hard work. I know I did.

I have only two requests for the next issue:

-An article from Jason Blackheart discussing the stats, attributes, and AI mechanics of the Fire Pro and KoC games. If you don't know Jason you should. The dude has single handedly torn apart and virtually reverse engineered most of Spike's recent wrestling games.
-An article showing some love for the Mat Mania (Exciting Hour) arcade game.

    Get it here:

I want to thank Dave Horn for mentioning PWX in his interview with Axe Bomber. Dave is a total class act and I hope his retirement is a Ric Flair one. There is a market for as many indie wrestling games as people can make. Love, love, LOVE Axe Bomber. More please.

    3) Dead Wrestlers

Linda McMahon is running for office and she's having a hard time stuffing that pile of dead wrestlers under the rug:

    5) Happy Birthday, Dreamcast and PS
    *****************************
Recently the Sega Dreamcast celebrated it's 9th birthday and the Sony Playstation turned 15 years old! Personally, I'd keep my Dreamcast over the entire Playstation library but that's just me. Fire Pro D was my first experience with the Fire Pro series and it just eclipses every wrestling game the original Playstation ever had in my eyes.

    6) WGU Phone Home
    ****************
A lot has changed since we first launched WGU and then the PWX project. Smackdown games no longer totally suck for one thing. For another thing, we lost touch with some of our original supporters as they got tired of waiting for PWX (can't blame ya) or just fell out of love with pro wrestling in general. We'd love to hear from you guys again. Let us know what you're up to, if you still care about wrestling (why or why not) and what would it take to get you excited about something like PWX again...besides releasing an actual game of course. Please shoot us an email or post something on Facebook. We'd love to hear from you!

In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.
    Thank you for your support,
    Dave Wishnowski

Note from me: I also heartily endorse reading the Axe Bomber Magazine. ;)

I had expressed interest in contributing, both to IT and to Troma's blog "Kidnapped By Ninjas", but have not yet found time to. I fully recommend people visit both. Tell 'em fullMETAL sent ya! (and you know, Dave W too)

No Mercy had about 4 corner back grapple moves, so I'd go with the later option.

I enjoyed that article, too. I think a lot of the older wrestling fans feel the same way.

Probably a bit late with this, but I'm still around and following the project. I still believe, and I still know what a Shining Wizard really looks like (and have the shirts to prove it).
