lol, dude I want to be mean or anything, but this isn't Mdickie games. 3DS does not support skeletal animation, and will defeat the purpose of having multiple characters that share the same skeleton with THOUSAND'S of animation. The only way 3ds will be supported, is if you use them for static meshes with no animation, like weapons and props......
Sorry for the late reply, MrOpenSource! We're testing the water with the openess of our first game, Uprising. We plan to leave all textures and audio freely accessible for starters. Ideally we'd like to leave it all open including models, animation formats, and even some sort of scripting access to allow gameplay tweaking. But we have to balance that openess with protecting our assets and paying back our investors. Baby steps.
That being said we are looking to offer some basic assets in a format that is easily edited by modders without access to high end 3D software. We ended up building our own game engine using the Direct X format for virtually everything.
Not yet. We have video playback support in the engine but there is no titantron in Uprising. However, we'll make sure to leave video screens open for video import when we give you guys the first venue that supports them which will be the second or third venue after the initial Hammerlock.
Is there going to be a second installment of Pro Wrestling X: Uprising sometime in the future? If so, I hope it is well funded and has an arena with entrance videos.
Yeah we wanna keep rockin' with PWX now that we're going to have a (hopefully) solid game engine to build from. We've already got a great small indie venue scheduled to get put in PWX next and while it doesn't have a screen for entrance videos I wouldn't rule it out yet either.
I'm expecting a new build this weekend and then I'll have a better idea about a release date. By Christmas isn't impossible but I wouldn't bet my life on it.
All animations right now ultimately end up in .X format. It works perfectly for our first game and we'll be rewriting the animation handler for the next game/expansion so we can gain even more control over the animations.
Are we going to be able to assign announcer audio to wrestlers when the entrance expansion pack comes out? Example: "From _______, _______, Weighing in at _______ pounds, He is the __________, and so on."
Another thing is will we be able to make custom hometowns and such?
Yes, once we implement announcer audio you'll have customization options in that area. What I'd like to do is just give you the freedom to completely overwrite the announcer audio entirely and import your own totally custom introductions.
