We made out ok after last week's little scare. To be honest, after years of being reduced to begging just to pay the rent and forced into hiring people I didn't want to hire it was nice, very nice, to finally have some leverage on our side. I wasn't afraid to push back and call a bluff. Chalk one up for the good guys.

Just when I thought I couldn't have any more fun developing Uprising I got the opportunity to see two new characters get created. We wanted to replace two of the Uprising characters for various reasons but time is an issue so the new character had to make use of existing animation except for taunts. We ended up with a couple of cool characters with interesting personalities. One will likely earn the wrath of certain wrestling fans and the other will probably not be very popular with the Iron Sheik. Good times. It's nice to have a little fun with characters and get away from generic-tattoo-indy-guy-in-trunks syndrome.

This last week was spent fixing an issue with the character textures but starting today we're back on gameplay. It wasn't the textures per se (although they did all need adjustments) it was the UV layout and character mesh that had issues. It was a minor bug (flickering textures at certain angles) but it required a LOT of tedious hunting through the histories of each vertex on the meshes. It got done though and now the character lighting and shadows look much better as well. Sound boring? It is. Onward we go!

In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of
