    1) Day of Reckoning
    *************
Wish us luck. Not to be more of a drama queen than I already am but today is kind of a stressful day for us.
Uprising is being evaluated with an axe dangling over it and we're all just a wee bit nervous. Actually, it's because the axe is hanging over the crew more so than Uprising itself. Long long story. I'm confident we'll all be ok though. The amount of work poured into Uprising in the last few months has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be solid. We'll be good. Just waiting for that email this afternoon to tell me so. Not like I haven't been here before. Watch for the Facebook status update and Tweet later this afternoon for the scoop when we get it.

    2) Justice Served

Our old character select menu has been scrapped and redone with totally new character art. I love it. I always wanted to give the feel of our game a bit more personality and retro style and the new artwork has exceeded my expectations. Our 3d character stuff looks good but they lack the ability to show any real expression just yet. The new artwork does the characters and their personalities justice. I can't wait to show it all to you guys.

    3) Tears for Tiers

What to do when something is horribly broken? You fix it of course. But when one of those broken things is required for your original grapple design to work it suuuuuuucks when the only available fix means retooling the gameplay a bit. I already had to scrap the KoC/Giant Gram style of timed strong grapple moves and now it looks like Uprising may feature a grapple system closer to the AKI games than I really wanted. It was either that or lose the three-tiered grapple system all together and I just didn't think that would be wise. Uprising is already a more stripped down game than I originally thought acceptable and I'm fighting to keep it from going farther in that direction. We'll see. Life has a way of forcing me into taking the best road even when I stubbornly think I know better. I almost moved our studio into the same office as the developer who sold us a stolen engine but life forced me in another direction. Whew. So I really have to trust that things will work out for the best. They always do.

    4) Hell's Studio

Speaking of life changing you. I had this conversation with a crew member this past week that I never would have had when I was a noob:

Programmer: I really hurt my knee bad today. It hurts so much.
Dave: Do you need your knee to type code?
    Programmer: I guess not.
Dave: Then why the fuck should I care?

We laughed so hard! What a joker I am! Yes. Joking...
