Welcome to Wrestling Gamers United Newsletter #419
1) What a Tangled Web 2) Holy Tirador! 3) Side Project
1) What a Tangled Web ************************ Intern abuse? Guilty. Eric has a poor intern, Anamaria, formatting and proof reading past newsletters to be archived on our new site. All of them. I'm told to be wary of reading a few in particular. Especially the ones from up to six years ago where I promise a PWX release date in a matter of a few months. Whoopsie! I'm honestly not in a hurry to read them. I've successfully blocked the most painful memories and I'd like to keep it that way for now. Eric expects to have the new site live by mid April.
2) Holy Tirador! *************** Just when you think you've seen it all. I was going through submission moves with our lead programmer a few days ago and noticed something...new. There were holes in Tirador's ankles. Literally frickin' holes. Apparently, for no obvious reason, certain polys in the character mesh were not rendering after we implemented what we thought was a harmless addition to the rendering code. Like, how the hell does that happen?! I've never read a game development article that said, "Yeah at one point in the production of Halo our characters had holes in them. It happens to every developer." We fixed the problem shortly after but still. Holes. Stupid holes. I'm almost afraid to improve even the simplest of things in the game at this point for fear it will suddenly cause the Hammerlock walls to start closing in like the trash compactor in Star Wars. What next? Blue eyebrows?
3) Side Project ********* I should clarify something. The side project I keep referring to is not really a side project in the sense that we're working on it full time at the same time we prepare Uprising for launch. Development on the core aspects of the side project will not begin full time until Uprising launches. Until then we're just doing research and planning in between PWX tasks. It's also not a game project. Not exactly.
In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.
