Welcome to Wrestling Gamers United Newsletter #412
1) Yo-yo Mac 2) Back to Developmental 3) Mod Question
1) Yo-yo Mac ********** In our on again off again relationship with cross platform support I'm happy to report that the pendulum has swung back in favor of a possible Uprising release on Mac and Linux. Now, we're not specifically trying to support anything other than Windows so please don't think we're losing focus yet again. It's just than recently we've been able to strip away some of the dependence on our current game engine as we make Uprising lean and mean and it's opened us up to the possibility of cross platform support again. Keep your fingers crossed if you've been hoping for a Mac or Linux release.
2) Back to Developmental *************** They say it's only a mistake if you do it twice. Otherwise it's a lesson. If that's the case then I think I've learned my lessons. Case in point is the way a new project for us has started. Back when PWX got it's first bit of funding things were much different. I had zero production experience, believed getting funding was the hard part, and dinosaurs roamed the earth. This time I'm not giving out jobs just because I can and I'm not starting art content before I have a proof of concept working properly in a proper engine. Otherwise you end up making the same art content five times over. Simple things that seem logical now, but things that didn't seem so obvious back in the day when all I wanted to do was see new characters, animations, and pretty shiny things. I think I've wasted enough money doing it the fun way. You don't make it pretty until you make it work and make it work well. And I'm honored, thrilled, and humbled to even get another chance at all.
3) Mod Question ************* A question was asked this week about whether future mods would be separate releases for PC, Mac, and Linux if indeed PWX Uprising was a cross platform release. The answer is, no. If PWX is in fact a cross platform release then any future mod or expansion packs will also work across all supported platforms.
In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.

I am getting excited for this! I am particularly interested to see how fast it takes the Mod community to pump out weapons. Since we already have a chair it will be simple to make tons of regular smacking items. But what about a usable Table or ladder?
Also. Has a decision been made on how to handle blood? I remember an investor rule basically made you guys unable to have blood but the suggestion was made to leave in the code for blood but leave out the differing textures. Any word? Oh and if you want to have something in place of blood, why not make the face get flush or bruised after a wicked shot?
