I'm a supporter of PWX. Have been for years (almost since the beginning, in fact). I'm ALSO a fan of wrestling title belts (something that fellow PWX supporter Spunk has been haranguing me for for just as long), and over the past few months on the classic board have been posting concept arts for a possible PWX Championship belt for the "big full awesome game".
Here, for new-forum consumption (and for you newbies to weigh in on) are my classic concepts in chronological posted order, to be updated whenever I come up with newer concept arts.
from August '09, a circular style and an NWA Domed Globe style: http://i26.tinypic.com/v66f4i.png http://i29.tinypic.com/2lvboyo.png
from September '09, an AWA style plate, and two Japanese-inspired belts made for the FPC Person Pack (visit http://www.fireproclub.com/!): http://i25.tinypic.com/5bwb9j.png http://i29.tinypic.com/28pidk.png http://i31.tinypic.com/2i0vtz9.png
from October '09, originally started as a ripoff of the CMLL version of the Reggie Parks Classic WWF IC belt, but I veered off into a weird place and liked where I was going with it: http://i35.tinypic.com/64kl8n.gif
Keep in mind that for any belt concept arts, I will NOT be "stealing" existing copyrighted work, but rather "homaging" them with enough variation to legally cover my ass.
As am I (the Winged Eagle is one of my top 3 favorite titles, along with the World Class/AWA Unified and just the IWGP belts in general). Still trying to figure out how to mimic the "fanned" look without having to use Illustrator...
Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not an anti-innovation guy either and if you have some outlandish and unconventional concepts for belts please feel free to post them. No guts, no glory!
I did have a few rather out-there (and unfinished) concepts for a Submission Title (Submission-based titles happen to be a favorite type for me since 1999) and a Tag Team title, but they were from about 2005 and my technique has improved considerably since then. Believe you me, when it comes to "weird"-looking title belts, I can get as weird as the best of them (like our own Raven Ankh's, as well as TEW's belts by Payne and Reaver); you don't have to worry about THAT. ;)
