1) Questions Answered *********************** Uprising continues to march towards release and this week I'd like to answer some more of your recent questions:
Q: Is it true the game will be released for free on ProWrestling.com? A: Nope. We are not affiliated with that site in any way except that I check it for wrestling news every morning. Hogan in TNA? TNA just got interesting....
Q: When will we see more gameplay footage? A: When there is something new to show. So far all the recent work we've done on Uprising has been under the hood. Anyone wanna see some sexy source code? It's got numbers AND letters.
Q: Are you making a 2D Live Arcade game, too? A: No sir. I get questions about making other games a lot. Thing is, I'm only interested in making one game, this game. I'm not doing this for any sort of recognition, career building, internet respect (LULZ!) or whatever. I want to play a certain kind of game and the only way to do that is to try and make it. That's why I'm doing this. To go on a tangent making some other game in a different genre or platform won't help me make PWX so I don't see the point. Sure I wish PWX had been released a lot sooner and it would be tempting to make a little 2D platformer just to ship something but if I really needed to massage my ego I would just go scare away the monsters under my daughter's bed. Suda51 has nothing to fear from me. I didn't even pick a cool nickname yet. Real men use real names anyway, pilgrim.
Q: Is there a release date? A: I swear on my father's grave that I will not announce a release date and then botch it. We will announce a release date when we are no more than two weeks from shipping the game and it will be a written in stone release date.
2) Boom Boom Owww **************** For what its worth to you fans of over the top hardcore action we got our hands on some more fancy-schmancy game engine upgrades that will unleash some explosive death match carnage once we decide to develop that aspect of the game. Well, I suppose we've already decided to do it in the future so I should say we've got it for when we're ready to develop it. I can't see worrying about exploding cages before normal exhibition matches are up to snuff, though.
3) Retro Room ************ I'm so stoked and I have to just gush about it to you guys. You know how old game consoles get relegated to the closet when you only have room for a couple in your living room? Well I just finished renovating my basement (only one trip to the ER!) and baby it's retro heaven. All of my old consoles are fired up and running from my NES and Genesis to my Dreamcast and N64. Roms and emulators are all fine and good but to truly experience Tecmo World Wrestling you need to be sitting on the floor in front of an old TV with that blocky little controller in your hands.
Ahhhhhh...it ain't Pro Wrestling NES if you don't have to blow on the cart.
In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.

I just have a question: what's the state of the "finished" Demo version of Uprising that you brought with you to the potential-investor meetings as Proof Of Concept? Are we ever going to get our grubby hands on THAT build of Uprising?
