1) To Mod or be Pretty? ***********************
So the question after getting funding again is have we learned from our mistakes? I'm happy to say the answer is yes.
Here's the scenario: There is an upgrade to our game engine available that we'd love to upgrade to for a variety of reasons. The game would look better, run on more platforms, have the ability to produce much cooler visual effects, and allow us to switch to much newer 3D animation and level building software. But there's a catch, under the license agreement for this engine upgrade we would no longer be able to freely distribute mod tools in the future.
What did we decide to do? We decided to stay put with the engine version we have and still allow full mod freedom for users. It sucks a little bit to know we can't take advantage of all the news bells and whistles an engine upgrade would provide but we feel user freedom to rip Uprising apart trumps any and all visual enhancements and even development tool upgrades.
Power to the players, eh?
Its a sign that Uprising is moving towards release again in good hands. It's a decision that we previously would have deliberated for days and I can't guarantee we'd have come to the same conclusion either.
Our most immediate concern right now is getting some additional animations in before we ship. They're animations we already had done but weren't properly exported into the game engine yet. Why not give characters all the animations we have available? We just want to make sure we've got the audio and mat impact triggers working properly in these 'new' animations before we unload them all into the game.
Ahhhhhh it's good to be back.
2) First Uprising Expansion planned *************************** We're making sure that once we launch Uprising that we haven't burned all of our resources. We want to make sure we can keep developing and offer at least one full expansion for Uprising before we go full bore into developing what we'll consider the first full version Pro Wrestling X as originally dreamed. One of the most important topics of discussion was how we should reward all those people who have been supporting us for so long. People who pre ordered the $40 PWX for example should be taken into special consideration when we put together pricing options for an Uprising expansion. We don't know if we can give something away for free, maybe we can and we will, but we're definitely keeping you guys in mind as we go forward. Free in-game shovel for Dark Offspring at the very least.
3) The Shockmaster! ******** Looks I'm going going to cross another item off my "100 geeky things to do before I die" list and finally purchase a new wrestling action figure (yard sales don't count):

An engine which can be easily tinkered with is by far the better option. If I wanted consummate visuals at the expense of user creativity features, I'd have just bought the latest SD game.

Ha ha ha ha ha. Actually even No Mercy 1.5 would be appreciated I think Dave. I know I would be happy with that even for now.
