Welcome to Wrestling Gamers United Newsletter #384
1) Batter up! 2) Whats in a name? 3) In real life
1) Batter up! *********************** I know we said the steel chair would be the only weapon in Uprising but it's looking like we might get some funding that will result in the addition of a new wrestler as part of the deal. This particular wrestler has a signature weapon he uses which happens to require a baseball bat grip instead of a chair grip. Oh well. At least it won't take long to add and there can never be too many weapons in a wrestling game. Am I right?
2) Whats in a name? ********************** Q: How did you pick the name Uprising for the first PWX game?
A: Funny story actually. We had been batting around a few names and debating them when I came across a post on a wrestling game forum that chose the name for us. It read something like this:
"Anyone can make a game in a year and these guys have been at it way longer than that. They owe us the worlds greatest wrestling game for all the bullshit and waiting they put us through. I swear, if this is not my absolute favorite wrestling game of all time there will be an uprising! Us real wrestling gamers will not stand for this kind of lies and abuse from a developer.
And I know what I'm talking about because I used to program for the Timex Sinclair."
And thus the name Uprising was born. Thank you, kind sir! I printed this inspiring post out and slapped it upon the studio wall for the whole crew to see. They had no idea of the awesome power they held in their hands. To be responsible for causing an uprising led by a Timex Sinclair programmer is not something we want on our conscience. There is already too much conflict in the world as it is.
3) In real life ********************** I've become addicted to the new Battlefield 1943 game even though I suuuuuck. But at least I try which is more than I can say for some of the children I run into online. WGU original ganster, Jynx, sent me this funny video that pretty much sums it up. Kinda reminded me of the Fire Pro in real life video I posted a few weeks ago:
