1) Filtered or non?
***********************
Add yet another fun glitch to the Big List of Things That Should Not Be Happening. We added pics of fans and supporters to the Hammerlock wall. No bigee, right? Well it shouldn't be. But for some reason the renderer is forcing a decrease in quality on the wall texture. The engine is doing this with good intentions. It speeds up frame rate and overall performance to optimize the texture quality. But when you want to pepper the large wall surface with dozens of little pictures it becomes important to make sure the resolution stays where you want it. So while it might be acceptable to ship Uprising with less-than-perfect fan pics on the walls...

...I think we'll put some time into overcoming this forced texture optimization. We did it once already with the characters themselves when they were initially exhibiting the same tendency so it shouldn't be too big of a deal to fix. Besides, it also important for the sake of modding. We want to make sure you can change all of the textures in the game and still have them look crisp and sharp.

2) THQ wants to leave WWE?
**********************
Did I read this right? Does THQ actually want out of their WWE deal? That can't be right:

I'm guessing they just want to renegotiate considering the huge success of their UFC game shows the WWE license may not be as valuable as WWE wants to believe.

3) Alberta Rising
**********************
Since living in Alberta for a few months now and checking out some of the regional wrestling shows I have to say I'm pretty happy. There is a lot of heart around here both in the ring and in the seats. It's funny, but I've seen shows in some pretty small towns here draw bigger crowds than the events I saw in Vancouver which has a population of well over two million people. And they tell me these crowds are actually down from a few years ago. By the way, congrats to Alberta based wrestler Randy Myers who was recently signed to a WWE developmental deal. I do miss the ECCW shows in Vancouver but there is plenty of great wrestling around here to keep me from getting too homesick.

4) Fire Pro in Real Life
******************
Holy crap thank you fullMETAL for this link showing Japanese "wrestlers" recreating Fire Pro Wrestling in real life. Too funny for words:

Kinda blows a hole or two in the whole "Fire Pro is a sim" argument ;-)

In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.

Thank you for your support,
