It wasn't even a terribly hard suplex. Just your normal back suplex, according to what I have read. It was given a 7 out of 10 as far as impact went.
I feel sorry for Akitoshi Saito who gave him that suplex. It's got to be really screwing with his mind.
Firepro introduced me to Misawa many years ago...after playing as him I found some tapes of his and he became my second favorite Puro star, right behind Kenta Kobashi.
You can find the confusion that was going on on YouTube. The video I saw started just as the ref called an end to the match, so I didn't see the actual suplex.

I heard about this for the first time last night...after doing some searching I decided to actually watch wrestling for the first time in ages.
So yeah, I caught RAW last night, but missed the first 10 minutes, so I have no idea if they said anything. I did notice that CM Punk had MISAWA written on the tape on his arm during his match, which I thought was cool.
It's sad; what wrestlers go through that is. It really wasn't the belly to back suplex that killed him. It was more or less all of the crazy bumps he has received over the years. He already had spinal issues as it was.... It's so surreal when wrestlers or actors die. He will be missed.
