1) Look out Nellie!
******************
Our side project this week got a nice shot in the arm. Now when I say "side project" please don't get alarmed. This isn't something that will take away from PWX development. To the contrary, it will help out PWX a lot. And in true WGU newsletter fashion I'm going to talk about it while being vague and secretive because I'm dying to talk about it anyway.

First, we've got some sweet letters of support in hand now. From a former Premiere, famous family members, an author, historian, etc. We are rockin' hard in that department and these letters will be key to getting the project in gear. Ok, so roll your eyes and tell me letters are not the same as a project in actual production or even the same as money to fund the production. You'd be right.
But remember that in order to catch the big fish you need bait and brother we have got some Grade A barely-legal crack-cocaine-for-whales bait in hand here.

In order to get this project approved I needed the approval of city council. I met with the mayor a few weeks ago and he loved the project. But he said I would need to petition city council and get them to vote on it. This past Monday I made my pitch to city council (you already know this if you're following us on Twitter http://twitter.com/ProWrestlingX) and I'm happy to say they voted 100% unanimously to give support to our project.

Here's what a few of the council members had to say:

"This is all fine and good but what about Whipper Billy Watson and Abdulah the Butcher?"

"This is fantastic. Thank you so much for your entrepreneurial spirit and bringing a project this exciting to our city."

"Is the WWE involved?"

Can't stop rocking'...

2) Samoa Joe, no love for TNA game
**************************
Ok so the TNA game by Midway was no great earth shattering product. Leading up to the release many people pointed out that Samoa Joe and AJ Styles were huge gamers and fans of Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 so surely that would affect the game positively. Well, not so much. But kudos to Samoa Joe who could step up and admit as much:

"Honestly, it just didn't turn out the way we wanted. It was a good start, but basically you need to realize that game making is a financial process and the time for the game's development really got cut. Two or three months got cut out of the time frame just because Midway needed to get the game out. It had already been delayed a couple of times and they were working with brand new technology and it was the first next-gen wrestling game that they had ever done at Midway. I'm happy to report, though, that we just got done doing another motion-capture session and another brainstorming session and we saw a mockup of "TNA 2" and it really looks fantastic. They put a lot of the features that fans wanted to see in the game, and a lot of things that the first game was really missing. I think fans are going to be pleasantly surprised."

Time will tell...

3) Hot Coffee Chair?
*********************************
Since posting the pics of the abandoned blood feature in Uprising some of you have written suggesting we leave the system in but without the blood textures. This way you can add the blood back yourselves and circumvent our need to ship a bloodless game. Can we do such a thing? Yes. Should we? Maybe. Our little game is not likely to cause any big media buzz over such a thing but we do need to make sure that we don't promote an obvious exploit in the game to get around something we contractually agreed to leave out. That being said, it won't be our fault if smart modders out there figure out how to make blood happen.

4) LOL MMA!
***********

MMA: Love it, hate it, or laugh at it. Today I choose the latter:

5) Smackdown 2010 teaser

Doesn't show much but thanks to the guys at GamingRing.com for the sneak peek:
