I for one love hardcore wrestling. Im just wondering if you could choose only 5 weapons to put in the game what would they be?
1. TABLES (got wood?) 2. Ladders 3. Light Tubes - which you could interact with other objects such as laying them on tables and placing them in the corner turnbuckles. 4. Barbed Wire - Same interactions as the light tubes. 5. Chairs (you gotta have 'em!)
tables, ladders, chairs (oh my), im still partial to the garbage cans (always amusing to watch), and yes to get more hardcore the barbed wire wrapped bat or wood is always good.
You can never go wrong with the classics, but hopefully there will come a time when weapons will be fully interactive. (ie. if you get slammed on the mat and theres a chair there, you'll actually hit the chair!) so in other words, great collision detection.
About collision audio, we have it working so the material the wrestler falls on determines the sound he makes. But so far it's only been tested on environment geometry. In theory it should work if a player contacts a weapon when falling. Hell, if No Mercy could do it seven years ago...
Honestly...I'm not one for hardcore wrestling I actually had a bit of trouble coming up with 5 weapons that I want in a game
1) Chairs (Fully interactive would be awesome. Make chair "tables", could slam onto a single open chair as well. Raven's famous drop toehold spot too.) 2) Tables 3) Ladders 4)Fork! 5)Singapore Cane
1)chairs 2)ladders 3)tables 4)barbed wire 5)tacks Later on down the road I'd like to see 1)chains (both Hercules-style and small, wrap-around-the-fist type) 2)brass knuckles (damage boost for punches, possible KO or blood modifier) 3)bullropes (only if you can choke or tie up the opponent) 4)branding irons 5)fireballs (must-have for Memphis wrestling!) It would be cool if stuff like chains, ropes, and leather straps could be used as a strike (whipping/beating your opponent) or as a grapple (choking or tying up your opponent). Two that I don't care if I ever see again are stop signs and trash cans.
I think there should be an expansion pack dedicated to the Hardcore/ Extreme/Japanese Match styles, you know barbedwire ropes, scaffold matches, oh and that Octagon Exploding Death Cage thing from FMW. I totally wanna be in that.
Wow....you guys really don't wanna wrestle THAT way... Ok - and my choices are... 1.Chairs (the classic chair) 2.Table (the more than classic table) 3.Ladders (for TLC's... and other gimmick matches) 4.Brass knuckles (sure, kinda gangsta, but still a nice little tool) 5.Barbed Wire (around the ring, wrapped around weapons, anywhere would be nice)
Gotta hand it to Dratsab for his knowledge of low moments in wrestling game weapon history.
"I think there should be an expansion pack dedicated to the Hardcore/ Extreme/Japanese Match styles, you know barbedwire ropes, scaffold matches, oh and that Octagon Exploding Death Cage thing from FMW. I totally wanna be in that."
That's exactly what the plan already is. Good call!
Straying from the lists that seems to repeat themselves (except dratsab's, awesome list btw lol), I'd definitely like to see Batons, Nightsticks, Maces, and Crowbars
1. Giant Fish 2. Powder-Explosion Guitar made of paper 3. Giant Bag of Popcorn (OMG, teh Owen versus Al Sown!1!11) 4. Giant Steve-weiser Can 5. Vince McMahon's Grapefruits (the same mechanics as the snowball fight from SD! that Dratsab mentioned)
A giant Tuna like the one from Dynamite Cop where you could slap them across the face with it would actually be a fun bonus weapon to put in... cough sneeze etc.
Hmm. 1. Chair (kinda mandatory) 2. Table 3. Ladder 4. Light tubes(I have yet to see them in a game and it would be sweet) 5. Not really a weapon but it would be sweet to pull up the mats and expose the cement like the good old days of wrestling.
I'm gonna have to go with a mild modification for TLC to the power of 2
1. Tables 2. Ladders 3. Chairs 4. Thumbtacks 5. Light Tubes All in a Cage, Cell, or Chamber (Whatever floats your boat.)
I myself am partial to the Chamber, when I see that thing my spot monkey mind just start firing out ideas left and right. We're just lucky CZW hasn't got the funds to build and Elimination Chamber-esque thing...
I love to see that garbage wrestling fans still exist! lol see its weapons like Light Tubes, Barbed Wire and exploding mines that really make me think physics implemented the right way would make this game unbeatable.
Imagine bashing a guy with a light tube, or slamming him through a stack of them. Then you pick up a shard of glass and cut him lol. Yeah what can I say I like the garbage
1. Chair (Gots to have this) 2. Rope with a cowbell on it (Yes...I've been watching Dusty Rhodes stuff recently) 3. Golden Railroad Spike (Hey...if it worked for Kevin Sullivan.....) 4. Light tube (I always loved smacking guys with em in Firepro) 5. Old Sat Phone (Paul E. Dangerously style)
I like garbage wrestling as much as techicnical wrestling. i feel that certain weapons NEED to be in the game in MY OPINION (thats all it is) they are:
1 - TABLES - pls pls pls tho make them useful, good collision detection, able to double stack, prop them in the corner etc...
2 - CHAIRS - with some individual grapple moves with wrestlers (Van-daminator)
3- LADDERS - With the ability to place wrestlers inbetween them & hopefully a TERRY FUNK STYLE MOVE would be amazing
I feel any other weapons would be a bonus
Also I feel that weapons should cause damage if moves are impacted on them IE. Tornado DDT into a pile of chairs
I like richiedef's ideea for the tables, and I have some ideeas of my own for a better use of chairs: after u beat the hell out of ur oponent u should be able to "place" him everywere like... u could place him on on the chair, then apply a Sweet Chin Music on him when his on the chair or... some other moves that involve chairs like the one in the folloin video between 00:20-00:37.............http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhnpUbqihFA&mode=related&search=
oh and about the ladders.... I think I asked this before :D....but can u climb them and execute a suicidal move from it?
1. Chairs Classic. I don't want them as usable as in the Smackdown-games, just to smash your opponent on it . Maybe also setting it up and then breaking it by smashing the opponent trough it. 2. Tables Must-Have. It should definitive in to lay the opponent on the set-up table and then doing a highfly-move trough it. And to smash an opponent trough the table WITHOUT putting the opponent on it before.
That's everything. These are must-haves. I'm a deathmatch-fetishist but there'll be a deathmatch expansion pack, right? :)
My favorite weapon in the MDickie series was the TV set - My finisher (on most wrasslers) was a sitting powerbomb - you fill up,get him outside and slam him right through the TV - it breaks with a nasty sound. If you are lucky - it starts burning, draining his health...The cherry is when you drop from the barriers making a nasty splash or a moonsault - 65% he is injured.100% win... TV's are a MUST. (or at least monitors...just give us glass with machine around it...that BURNS...)
Instead of listing tables, ladders, and chairs, Ill list 5 other things I'd want.
1. Ring steps- You should be able to take the ring steps off and use them to do a move on. You should be able to smash peoples head on them. 2. Bat- A gut shot, an ax style swing, a choke, and a basebase swing. 3. Sledge hammer- Gut shot, back of the knee shot, etc. 4. Trash can- Over the head, in the corner, dropkick into it, smash it over them. Tons to do with a cheap alluminium trashcan. 5. Thumb Tacks- So much could be done with these it isnt funny. But it would be semi easy to impliment. Just a damage boost for whatever they hit.
What I'd actually include if you were going to put soem weapons in though... Chairs, tables, ladders, announcer tables, ring steps, barracades, the ramp to the ring, thumb tacks(like I said, it would be semi easy), titles in title matches, and maybe a trash can.

That's what I meant: Being able to do any move from anywhere trough anything. Not as low possibilites as in the SD-games, where you can only smah your opponents trough the tables, with a number of pre-set moves.
I don't know if this would be a weapon type, or a combination of two weapons in game, but I'd love to see thumbtack tables similar to the ones Abyss went through in a TNA PPV.
What would be really great is to set up a table (which is wrapped in barbed wire.. come on I can dream!), pour a bag of thumbtacks over it, light it on fire, and then powerbomb someone off a ladder through it. Now tell me that wouldn't just make your day ;)
