Sorry if i am a little illiterate in this area but i will learn.

Say i have a pic of Road Warrior Hawk from Legends of Wrestling can i import that pic & map it onto a caw in PWX even if the pic is at an angle. What i am asking is do you need a full frontal, side, & back pic to completely map something like this.

I know Monitor did a great job on Starman. My eyeballs almost fell out when i saw what an AWESOME job he did. If anyone has the link to the great Starman he did can you please post it. I wanna admire it a little more.

I have no idea where that picture is anymore, so I can't help with a post of it.

However, the basic question I can answer. Taking your example you will need to actually get the MAP from LOW of Hawk. It *SHOULD* be close to the same type of map PWX uses, if it is not you will have to modify that map to fit onto a PWX mesh (A mesh is the 3d wire frame model that the map applies to)

Now...I've never looked at the skins (or maps) of the LOW series, so they may be completely aligned differently and may take lots of modification, or they may only need to be resized, ya don't know until you have both.

    Here is the pics monitor:

Here's the Legion of Doom (Hawk & Animal) i'm referring to:

Can we use that pic & import Hawk & Animal as they are into PWX???

Here is a beautiful pic of the Ultimate Warrior close up:

And here are some more pics...just click on them to enlarge to bring them up:

What those are pictures of are skins (maps) already on a mesh (Wireframe model)

You can NOT just take those photos and willy nilly put them on a PWX model.

Those are SPECIFIC skins for use on a SPECIFIC mesh. The mesh in the picture has the spike pads, a PWX mesh will not necessarily. The Animal mesh has his mohawk as part of the mesh, as in a little flat ridge on the top of the head. You may not have that on a PWX mesh.

You may be able to modify the skin to work on a PWX mesh, you may not...again I'd have to see the SKIN.

So how do you get the skin?

First you have to look at the files located on the disc.
Discover which ones are used for skins.
Then open that file in an image editor such as Photoshop or Paintshop.

And unfortunately the skin is NOT going to be named something like: HAWKOUTFIT1.jpg

It will probably have a name like 012cf354.rsx or 254dfr655.tga or something.

So it takes a lot of time to cruise through the files on a disc to hopefully discover the one you are looking for and then if you are lucky you can modify it to work on what you want it too.

EDIT: And my wife just popped in and said I was being a grumpy-butt, so if that came off as sounding harsh I apologize but I'm trying to answer the question in as simple of terms as I can think of.

Thank You Monitor. But do i need to buy the game Legends of Wrestling Showdown which is only available for the xbox & ps2 & somehow take the game disc & go into photoshop/painshop & look for these files? Or do you need a special tool to get these SKINS?

    Thank You.

Doh!. I answered this earlier but must have hit 'Back To Discussions' instead of add your comments.

First thing you need to be aware of, the skins and such may not be visible on the disc. Most software makers do NOT want people using their art assets. So they hide them inside archives and other moethods so that the general public can not find them.

As for looking for them, you just pop the disc in your computer and explore it like you would any other disc.

Sheesh, tell me about it. While the PS1 Acclaim games (WarZone, Attitude, and the 2 ECW games) may have been a cakewalk to rip textures AND music from (I used PSx Media Converter, but PSicture, PSound, and CubeMedia Player are also really good), the PS2 games are a huge hassle to surf through (looks like they learned their lesson...but I was still able to rip various textures and models from SvR and Rumble Roses :D ). I STILL don't know how to rip the music from LoW2, and I'm not even gonna bother trying to rip the music from LoW3 (cuz I have the X-Box version) in any way except for straight-up recording it.
    Bleh. :P

Again, I used PSxMC to rip the TIM textures from the PS1 Acclaim games. I can't rip from the PS2 Acclaim games.
And the SmackDown and Rumble Roses textures are packed into .PAC files, which you need an UnPacker for, THEN you still need to convert from TIM2 to a friendlier format via PhotoShop and the tm2x plugin (Google it). The models themselves are a whole different beast, and I can't help you on that one. Sorry. :(

That was pretty much what I thought it was going to come down too. RWA as you can see the process is NOT a simple one...I have a copy of Showdown as well...maybe once PWX is released I'll take a look inside it sometime and see if there is anything useful in it.

Would something like this be like one the software we are talking about to view skins:

Here is one extraction software that MIGHT work:

    http://www.watto.org/extract/info.html

    And here is possibly another:
