Welcome to Wrestling Gamers United Newsletter #367
1) Weapon Mechanics 2) Interview Complete 3) New Fire Pro!
1) Weapon Mechanics ****************************************** I received some questions after mentioning the weapon mechanics in Uprising last week regarding how they are used and the damage they do etc. and it's pretty basic stuff. Here are some additional details:
* Chair shots do roughly twice as much damage as a strong strike * Chair shots to downed opponents do damage but they do not add to the recovery time which affects how long a wrestler stays down. * Chair shots (or any strikes for that matter) will not connect to an opponent while they are returning to their feet from a downed state. * Chairs are dropped if an opponent successfully strikes you or initiates a grapple * You cannot block while holding a weapon * Chairs are automatically dropped if you press the run or climb button but you can enter and leave the ring with them
Essentially, weapons do more damage than strikes but you can't spam the living hell out of them either. Sound good?
2) Interview Complete ************************* The interview I teased last week is complete. Please don't hate me for making you wait another week to read it. Just prepare for the awesomeness.
3) New Fire Pro! ********************* Whoopsie! Last year I reported news of a new Fire Pro coming to Xbox Live Arcade and I said it was probably just a false rumor. Looks like I was wrong...or right...or something. Turns out we may very well be getting a new Fire Pro for XBLA as well as PSN later this year along with a collection of old Fire Pro games for Wii. Well sorta. Word on the street (yo) is that it will only be released in Japan. The best place for all the latest info is FireProClub.com
But how about that, eh? I actually got the scoop on a new Fire Pro game even if I didn't believe it. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to take all of my new found interweb cred and see if I can buy a stick of gum with it...
In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.
