Resently I modded up WWF No Mercy and desided I was going to run my own sim fed. The problem is that Youtube says that I was infringing on WWE's rights, so they killed some of my postings. I don't really understand all about copyright laws, but if I'm not bashing ANYBODY, rather just recording match cpu vs cpu match and posting it, how is that infringment??
Anyways, is anyone with me on this one?? Because I've seen vids of pretty much the same hing I posted that have been up for at least a year. Maybe it's just my luck.

Dude i'm so sorry man. Jesus it's not like Vince McMahon doesn't have enough bread to on his table. So Sorry because i'm one of those guys that i'm sure has viewed you No Mercy vids every now & then.
Well Vinnie Mac can kiss my died grandad's nutz for all I care. The whole reason I even wanted to do a sim fed is because the 'real' show sucks and I felt I can do a better job of entertaining the fans. The whole corporate office is sooooo out of touch with the fans, like going PG!!! It would look like we're giong back in the days of The Undertaker vs (insert some clown with magical skills), except I think ya boy is getting too old to be like he was.
It's one of the major reasons why the economy suck, the bosses have lost touch because they we're too busy paying some dopie annalist with a masters degree to do it for them. Take for another example NASCAR. They now have a goffer for a mascot. Some cutzie thing with it's own comic book and stuff. What!!! Look people, there are two types of NASCAR fans. The ones like my dad who watch because he's a gearhead and one's like me that just want to see a sweet wreck. There is no room for cutzie things in NASCAR or WWE for that matter, Richard Petty would be rolling around in his grave, um... if he was died. What's next??? An NFL game breaking out into a pillow fight??

I don't see how Vince McMahon is losing money over this. But batman's youtube videos might be better to watch than the show Vince McMahon puts out every monday night because it is so bad.

Now...having had to deal with some stuff like this in the past I have a slightly different perspective.
Are you hurting WWE? Of course not.
However WWE has to protect it's copyrights, no matter how innocent the usage of those rights are being used. If it doesn't protect them whenever they see a violation, then eventually they lose those copyrights and the stuff beomes public domain. They then can't sell any of it.
I haven't seen any of your videos that I know of, but I have seen the type. Using any WWE characters, writing your own storylines for said characters especially if your stuff is better than the current writing can undermine (potentially...there is certainly a very very VERY small chance that anyone is really gonna notice) their future sales or viewership. The law does not have any 'kinda' provisions for someone who is just doing things to amuse himself and a few friends.
Using your commentary or whatever to slam the current product can influence people who come across your videos and dissuade them from watching the real thing. Blah Blah Blah.
Using the game engine with your own creations? What if someone in WWE down the line develops a character very similar to one you have posted. Even accidentally having never seen your videos there could be a law suit brought by you against WWE. You have video proof that YOU created said character...but in the same fine print basically everything you ever make using the WWE game engines can be claimed as theirs.
Now....do I agree with those interpretations of the law? Of course not. Common sense says you aren't doing anything wrong, unfortunately the way the laws are currently written and interpreted, you are.

Anyways, I quit on the modding world for now. The whole thing was to post videoes of the weekly shows, but since I can't... My problem is that there are millions of videoes using the same engine, some have been posted for a long time, that have not been taking down. I had mine up for less than 24 hours and was shut down. It's a little retarded, and I would narc on them like I KNOW they did to me, but I'm not that way. Any of you guys can feel free though.
