Welcome to Wrestling Gamers United Newsletter #360

    1) Go and Stop
    2) Gameplay vids
    3) Vancouver is Burning
    4) THQ is confused

    1) Go and Stop
    ***************************
Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?

Later this morning I have a meeting booked with someone who I think is pretty damn important.
He was a key element in the history of Stampede Wrestling and someone who I think can do a lot of good for PWX. And the sad part is that I can almost guarantee you've never heard of him.
If all goes according to plan we'll be able to do something to help him and he'll be able to help us.

    Wish me luck.

update: as I was writing the newsletter I got word that the person I was to meet with had to cancel due to emergency surgery. Apparently though it's not too serious and he should be out of the hospital in a few days. I wish him a speedy recovery!

    2) Gameplay vids
    *****************
I spent the better part of a day this week capturing some Uprising gameplay videos to share with you. I'm pretty busy until early next week but keep an eye out on our Youtube channel sometime around the middle of next week when I hope to have some new videos posted. In the meantime, here is an incredible and stunning new screen cap:

I love how that camera angle gave G-Rush a nice Mayhem-esque look to his pose...

    3) Vancouver is Burning
    ****************************
Thanks to Dan for this item. Recently the Georgia Straight newspaper published a cover illustration of a tree that accompanied a story about the history of the Vancouver game industry. Well, one artist saw the irony in this and before long his interpretation of the Vancouver game industry going down in flames was everywhere:

It can't be all bad, though, as we recently learned that Ubisoft acquired a Vancouver studio.

    4) THQ is confused
    *********************************
They go and make quality improvements to their flagship franchises, score higher review scores, and still they lose money. If it's any consolation, they say they will focus more on their key franchises and less on developing new titles from scratch. So that means they'll improve their wrestling games even more, right? Right?!

In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.

    Thank you for your support,
    Dave Wishnowski
  1.
The screen capture you posted in this newsletter is very good. The images you posted so far reminds me of No Mercy textures except they are much sharper. And that's how like them.

Thanks! I think the art crew lead by Darrell did an admirable job especially considering the relatively low technical limits they had to work under. I'm extremely satisfied with the way Uprising looks.

Agreed. So when can we place the preorder for PWX2 Dave? I 've got $50 bucks put aside just for that. I'm thinking ahead LOL.

That's like putting $50 aside for retirement. I'm only 21 and I think retirement at 55 will come before PWX2

Ha! Yeah we'll be holding off on PWX2 pre orders for a wee little while just yet.

I have so much hope that PWX will turn out to be a very good game that i was willing to pay $500 just for this game. Seriously.

Well I certainly appreciate your optimism!
