1) Path of Least Resistance ***************************
I had a good talk with Eric the other day, batting around the different opportunities we've been juggling with and he really helped put it all into perspective. All around us game developers are dropping like flies. Publishers themselves are cutting back just to survive. Midway is circling the drain and even EA is making unheard of studio closures and other cuts. What can we do to avoid a similar fate? Well, the most obvious thing would be to pay close attention to the opportunities and less attention to the carnage around you. This little side project we've been tinkering with should maybe be taken a bit more seriously. Not because it distracts from PWX development but because it ultimately would lead to the culmination of everything we ever dreamed of for PWX. When we stand back, breath, and start connecting the dots, we can't help getting butterflies, like maybe this isn't so innocuous after all. Maybe this is the tipping point opportunity. Maybe this is how it was meant to come together all along.
Or maybe I'm full of crap. Either way it's going to be fun!
2) 3D Fire Pro Update **********************
I've been getting a lot of questions about the 3D Fire Pro rumor I heard a few months ago. The person who first leaked it to me wasn't supposed to say anything in the first place so I couldn't get any more out of him. He's been right before though and he certainly works with the publishers who would be involved in such a project. However, I have to go on record (because my opinion matters so terribly much) and say that I think it's a bust for a variety of reasons. If anything I think we're looking at a Fire Pro Returns release on the PS3 download service although I'd be perfectly happy to be wrong about this. There is just no reason for a 3D Fire Pro.
3) Nature is Faker than Wrestling *********************************
So I'm met with a guy this week about financing and I learned he was behind the financing for a lot of those nature shows you see on television. Turns out all of the audio you hear during those pristine and peaceful nature scenes is almost always done in the studio in post production. Thought what you were hearing was recorded with what you were seeing? Not likely. It was probably just "violatedowl_screech001" and "windyforest_loop002"
What are we going to learn next? That some UFC fights are fixed? That's right. I went there.
In the meantime and in between time, that's it, another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.
