1) Click, click, boom! **********************
"You're back! Oh my god, look at me...you're back!"
That's what my wife said to me after watching me babble on like an idiot about all the new things happening in the PWX universe for about 20 minutes without breathing. It's been a 'challenging' year for the project and for me personally as well and for a good chunk of time I wasn't exactly excited about much. I was kind of a downer actually. My wife suffered through my mood swings like a trooper though and she clearly was relieved to finally see me get my groove back. I'm really fired up. For a long while there the finish line was a bit fuzzy and when you can't see where you're going you're a little reluctant to step on the gas.
I'm really happy now. I can see a clear path ahead of us and I'm fired up like I haven't been in far too long.
2) Mark alert ***************
People are people and we're all human. But it's really hard to remember that sometimes when shaking the hands of childhood heroes. I'm almost 40, but I still have to hold back that goofy grin and dumb questions when I meet someone I never imagined I ever would. Being here in Alberta now and working hard to preserve Canadian wrestling heritage has left me in that position more than a few times now. It's a 'problem' that I'm happy to have. I only hope I'm coming across as even remotely professional and not becoming known as "that mark with the video game".
3) Midway sinking *******************
Those waiting for Midway to take a second stab at the TNA franchise might have to wait a while. The man who owned 87% of Midway just sold his entire ownership stake in the company for an astonishingly small sum of $100,000. How much faith do you think he has in the future of the company to dump his stock for pennies?
I know a guy who knows a guy who works for a publisher that supposedly is bringing a 3D Fire Pro game to 360 Live Arcade in 2009. I trust the source to some extent but I find this 'news' to be a bit hard to believe. I always thought Spike was adamant about keeping Fire Pro 2D since the ill-fated Iron Slam game on PS1. If it turns out to be true though I'm thinking online multiplayer would be a lot harder to spam if they retain the bump-and-grapple mechanic. Fingers crossed...
In the meantime and in-between time, that's it. Another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.
I had heard a rumor of an fpr Live enabled xbla game which I thought was amazing if it actually happened. But a new firepro all together? Thats just bad ass. I really think you guys should consider getting an xna creators club membership and you could distribute a version of uprising on xbox live arcarde. Some of the new community games are pretty sweet some are awful none are wrestling and people are getting payed, Just something to think about
So if I buy a share from Midway, I will own a part of the company? Imagine me coming home from school, going to my mom and saying "MOM! MOM! I own a share of a big US video game company!" That will throw her out the chair...
