Anyone got this and can give me a verdict on it? Is it better than last years? How does it stack up? What did they take out? Things like that?

I'm in need of a wrestling game to play and was wondering if it's worth a rent at least.

I've been hearing positive stuff about it. And my friend won't stop bugging me about it. I'm going to play it this weekend with some friends (hopefully tomorrow if he lets me come over to check it out). I'm interested about the Create-A-Finisher mode. It's real silly though, check youtube for some vids of some excessively long finishers) My friend says story mode and Road to Wrestlemania is short.

I know I probably didn't help much. I just wanted to contribute.

it's a step up from last year, but it's not IMO made up for the hype it's been getting. RTW is interesting, Career Mode is repetitive, Create a Finisher can be awkward, and overall the AI is still dumb as a box of rocks (even on legend).

Worth a rent, but it's not replacing HCTP/No Mercy

I just added the game to my que at Gamefly and they SHOULD be shipping it to me tomorrow, so I'll be able to my two cents about it this weekend hopefully.

I haven't followed ANYTHING about the game until tonight...when I saw that they were doing a lot of focus on the tag team aspect I decided I wanted to see the game at least.

focus on the tag team is just different angles on team moves and a team finisher yay!!!(not) Its just another gimmick that doesn't live up to the hype like the total control moves. The create a finisher if bogus as well. It loses its allure after 20 minutes or so. Too many of the animations do not go well together at all. For example theres a urinage to ddt possibility, And yes its as bad as it sounds

I got the PS2 version today. I was pleasantly surprised that the loading times were reduced. For me, this makes the game playable again.

I've not had a chance to put any real time into the game yet, but so far it looks like an improvement on last year's.

It's probably just because I am starved for a wrestling game, but I've been enjoying my experience with SvR 09.

Certainly I've played better wrestling games....but it gets the job done.

I agree. It's not that bad of a game.

The battle royal/royal rumble ring out system is absolutely terrible though.
