Ready for it?

After careful review, I have found rumble roses xx to be a more enjoyable game than the smackdown series.

Unscrupulous, yes, but still. There are some moves that make my flinch when they hit. And as a punk ass chick myself, curb stomping someone with a punk chick makes me happy. That and the way they will actually grab at the ropes when thrown over them, and a shot to the stomach makes them reel and cough like it would, and just... while what it was going for might not have been the ideal thing to go for, it got there better than other games out in terms of the animation and interaction of it's moves. Dynamic camera and close angles, reverse powerbombing someone from a reverse cloverleaf hold and rolling through into a boston crab, whatever.

But I'm a girl, so no one can play the perv card on me. So there.

I still don't have a 360, but I have RR 1 on the PS2, and I whole-heartedly agree with Gwen's assessment of Rumble Roses using Yuke's engine better than SmackDOWN! did/does. Even if it's just from the ringside camera being rotated 45 degrees (as EVERY wrestling game born in Japan does).

And Gwen was saying that you can't play the "you're a pervert for liking the jubbly wrestling game" card on her BECAUSE she's a girl (regardless of whatever sexual orientation she has). She can do that. Because she's a girl.

See? fullMETAL gets me.

Anyway, as long as I'm dropping bombs on this forum, I'll go a step further.
Rumble Roses' content questionability aside, wrestling is HOT.

Search your feelings. You know I'm right.

Oh, so she's not a perver watching almost nekkid gurls wrasslin on tha floo, but when I watch two barely dressed guys wrestling on I am the gayest person alive?
Wait...
4.
What's a floo? Actually I feel like I might be getting the floo. Anyway, spudz, what just happened was I just blew your mind. It's okay, though, it will grow back, and it will be even stronger than before!

And we're not just talking about pro wrestling or a japanese game with questionable intent. We're speaking in broader terms. Now. Not at the beginning of the thread. The beginning was about the shame that smackdown people must endure for having produced a game that failed to measure up to glorified soft-core.

OMFG Amazinggwenster - I was just kidding really...
floo means floor. The sentence actually goes "She isn't a pervert watching naked girls wrestling on the floor."
Nowadays I feel kinda like Chris Rock - everything I say just strikes right back...
I don't know if the game is more entertaining than SvR. I haven't played it because my mom won't let me (funny, right?)
Also - I think I struck a nerve in the past in some way I forgot and I would like to apologize for that. . .
5.
Huh. I must say I'm taken aback by the severity of your post. So taken aback that I will go so far as to say this: Dude. Chill.

Everyone wants to think that everyone is just freaking about about everything they say. No, you didn't hit a nerve, and you aren't edgy and you're not like Chris Rock. Nothing you said even caused my hackles to wake up and look around let alone stand up and get angry.

Anyway, I'm monopolizing the top thread on the forum. Why? I'm awesome.
6.
Also, yeah, I don't support people playing RRXX that would be in anyway impressionable... we don't need creepy Japanese perviness spreading even more. BUT we do need more female-heavy female-centric wrestling games. Why? I'm awesome.

Ya know I *still* haven't tried out RRXX....sadly I can't remember the last time I actually PLAYED a wrestling game...probably around February or March of this year and it was FPR.
7.
Ya, I've been dabbling about with FPR and King of Colosseum 2 via pcsx2 for a while now. Looking forward to adding a game to the list... :)

While Gwen's mentioning video games devoted to the fine-line art of women's wrestling, it's worth a look to check out these games for the SNES (on emulator, probably; no, I will not provide links to the "questionable content"):
Jwp
Fire Pro Wrestling Joshi: All Star Dream Slam
Fire Pro Wrestling AJW Queen's Special (I think this one has Create-a-Joshi)

I know there's another one I have that has fictional wrestlers (the other 3 have real wrestlers, I think with their proper names and everything), but the name escapes me at the moment. They're kinda forgettable if you don't obsess over them the way people obsess over Fire Pro Returns and 6MS, but their gameplay is pretty solid for SNES wrestling games.
8.
JWP and FPWJ are there, but there's not a lot to them. I did play the crap out of FPW Queen's Special (once I found an english translation....)

Don't forget about the Wrestle Angel series, which got a couple entries on the PS2 (oddly enough).
And of course Beauty Girl Wrestling aka Bishoujo Wrestler Retsuden. A fine lil sim, if only you can read japanese. I can't.
9.
I fail to see the point of this topic.
Anyway,
this game isn't better than Smackdown Here Comes the Pain or Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 by any means.
Secondly, the only reason one would have to actually think it's better, would be the female wrestlers themselves.
[cite] Amazinggwenster:[/cite]But I'm a girl, so no one can play the perv card on me. So there.
Are you saying that girls aren't pervs? There are pervs from both sexes. So yeah, I believe the perv card can be played on ya. And judging by the way you describe the game, I might as well play it on ya.

Cheers.

Thing is, even if you get past the whole "OMG, jubbly DoA chick wrestlers!!" aspect of Rumble Roses, there's no denying that it was a much more solid use of the Yuke's engine (circa SmackDOWN!: Here Comes the Pain) than SmackDOWN! itself was. In fact, the lack of a real CAW (or CAR - Create A Rose) is just about the only thing that really doomed the series. Too bad though, we could have had a much better CAW system for the females (considering SD thinks it tries so hard for making male wrestlers, which STILL don't look like they belong with the game defaults).

Wait.... there ARE pervs from both sexes? I thought they were two different species with no degree of commonality between them. Oh, wait, no, I just thought that I wasn't gay. Maybe that was it. And being heterosexual and not really being able to get into RR for it's skeeziness sort of exempts me from accusations of fapping away and playing with one hand, a la DOA xbeach whatever, coincidentally (*facepalms*).
[cite] iOwNaGibsonLesPauL:[/cite]I fail to see the point of this topic.
The point of this thread was to a. make a statement about wrestling games on the market and b. to create discussion. Given the length of it, I'd say it's undeniably half-successful at the very least.

Lastly, while your counterpoints are quite persuasive, I've somehow managed to hold onto my original belief. Also, with regards to the second statement, it sounds like you are someone who was too preoccupied with the models to be able to see the game as just another wrestling game.

Of course, the thing is flawed as crap, but I found it a more enjoyable experience than the SD games... especially comparing things like SD's white-knuckled tag/handicap/whatever matches. I feel so much like I'm grappling with the game to try to force it to submit to my will for it, as opposed to using intuitive controls to interact with it.

BTW, congrats on the LP. I had one for a while, but I offed it in favor of a Godin LGX. I didn't like the neck or the tune-o-matic on the LP.
