Alright, so Dave didn't have the time for a question this week....but come on this is becoming a routine...so how about an EASY one

List your 5 favorite wrestlers of all time.

This is OPINIONS, so no flaming peoples choices...in fact lets try to keep this thread restricted to ONLY answering the question. You can explain your own answer if you wish, but don't worry about someone elses answer.

5 favorite wrestlers of all time:

    1. Arn Anderson
    2. Bret Hart
    3. Midnight Express
    4. Ric Flair
    5. Shawn Michaels.

    1. Anderson during his run with the early Horsemen really grabbed my attention as a young fan. I have never seen a match that Arn Anderson participated in that I did not enjoy. I'm sure there are some out there....but none that I can recall. He even made me find Robocop bearable, although only barely.

    2. Hart was the only thing I liked to watch in the WWF for a LOT of years. The side show aspect and cartoony feel that McMahon had on at times really hurt to watch.

    3. Awwww.....tag team wrestling....especially in that time frame was ALWAYS my favorite match on the card...and nobody put on as many consistantly good matches as the Midnight Express.....Eaton was the rock and both Lane and Condrey worked well with him. The British Bulldogs, Hart Foundation, Fantastics, Rockers, Rock N Roll Express, Russians, Road Warriors...just about any of them could have filled this spot. Man I miss tag wrestling being relevant.

    4. He is still what I consider to be THE great champion.

    5. I almost put Hunter here....but I just can't keep my mind off of the pure fun Michaels has given me over the years and it's just been a little more than Triple H's.
  1.
    1.Eddie Guerrero
    2.Bret Hart
    3.Chris Benoit
    4.Dean Malenko
    5.Shawn Michaels

I shouldnt have to explain these I dont think. I just know that you could mix them together in any order and have match of the year every night. I almost put RVD in there over HBK but thats just cuz im an ecw mark. In reality as cool as it is to watch RVD he cant tell an in ring story like the showstopper.

    1. The Undertaker
    2. Jake "The Snake" Roberts
    3. Ric Flair
    4. Ted Dibiase
    5. Hulk Hogan

No reasons other than my childhood favorites

Honorable mentions: Demolition, Savage, HBK, Angle.

    1. Shawn Michaels
    2. Hulk Hogan
    3. Kane
    4. AJ Styles
    5. None

Can't decide on a fifth, there aren't that many wrestlers that have entertained me exactly like the above.
  2.
5 Favorite Wrestlers of all Time:

#1. Dr. Death Steve Williams - My favorite wrestler of all time. I fell in love with Dr. Death the first time i saw him military press 8 times in a row 300+ pounds of Terry Bam Bam Gordy against the top of a steel cage rattling the entire cage in the process & while doing this amazing feat had a smile on his face like it was nothing. #1 #1 #1 #1 #1
Although he was never reached his potential here in the States, he found tremendous success in the orient & is considered the 2nd. most popular gaijin (foreign wrestler) to ever wrestle in Japan. The first being Stan Hansen.

#2. The Incredible Hulk Hogan - Hulk Hogan made me watch wrestling back in 1984. At a time when i hated wrestling with a passion & would rather watch cartoons ( i was 9 at the time), but when i saw one of the old WWF intros with Hulk Hogan making his way down the ring with Michael Jackson's Thriller playing the in the background I was Hooked for life.

#3. Road Warriors - Can't have Hawk without Animal. They both compliment each other. My favorite & GREATEST tag team of all time & along with Hulk Hogan brought me to the dance.

#4. Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff - Yes as a bad guy or good guy, I loved this man the minute i saw him for the first time on NWA tv in 1985. I knew he was something special.

#5. Warlord - Yes this big muscle man who became a main event jobber is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. He had so much potential but the promoters really never took notice of him. Imagine what would've been!

    Hulk Hogan
    The Rock
The Undertake (Although I liked his bad @$$ gimmick more)

    Bret Hart
    Demolition
    Mr. Perfect
    Undertaker
    Hulk Hogan

Honorable Mentions: HBK, L.O.D., Jake The Snake, Ultimate Warrior and "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase
  3.
    1. Sting - The blond Sting, mainly. He is the reason why I watch wrestling today. I remember the very first match I saw from him. I was about 7 years old, and I was turning through the channels. Then, I saw this guy (Sting) in the ring fighting some unknown guy, when all of a sudden a dark stranger appeared from outside of the ring. This individual turned out to be the evil Black Scorpion. Sting almost lost the match because of him. But, he pulled through. Ever since then Sting has been my favorite.

    2. Bret Hart - Pretty obvious as to why. He's Bret Hart. One of, if not THE greatest technical wrestler of all time. Plus, he has the same finisher as Sting, he just uses a different leg. Oh, and he has one of the best theme songs of all time.

    3. Hulk Hogan - Also VERY obvious. I watched wrestling and WCW because of Sting. But, I watched WWF because of the Hulkster. He was the hero that most every wrestling fan wanted to be.

    4. Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig - He's perfect.

    5. The Steiner Brothers - My favorite tag team of all time. By the late 80s and early 90s they were untouchable, I believe, even by the Road Warriors.
  4.

Correction. The Steiners were defeated by the Road Warriors on one of the Nitros from the very late 1990s. It's on youtube. Yep the Warriors cheated & used a boot but a win is a win. So. LoL.
  5.
Well, when I say untouchable, I just mean that to me no other team compares in how awesome they were. The Road Warriors are my second favorite team, though.

Actually Demolition were pretty awesome too. Holding the WWE tag belts for 698 days and having 3 tag team title reigns. Even when they were heels they would still get a huge pop. They were like the "Stone Cold" Steve Austin of Tag Teams. Some might say they were Road Warrior ripoffs but I think The Powers Of Pain looked more like The Road Warriors than Demolition did. In my opinion, Demolition were just as good if not better than The Steiner Brothers and the Road Warriors not to discount either of these teams seeing as how The Steiners had pure, techincal wrestling talent and The Road Warriors held tag titles from just about every federation they were in and they were a very effective, high impact and raw and aggressive tag team. Damn I miss the golden age of Tag Team Wrestling. That`s why I am looking forward to making a bunch of tag teams and CAW tag teams in Smackdown v.s. Raw 2009. :)

    1. Kenta Kobashi
    2. Toshiaki Kawada
    3. Bryan Danielson
    4. Mike Quackenbush
    5. Ryuji Ito

Those really don't need explanation. First 3 are obvious, Quack is the Harry Houdini of professional wrestling and Ryuji Ito is just a sleazy stiff bastard that could chop someone's head of with a roundhouse or axe kick, and his Dragonsplash is the sleaziest Top Rope move EVER.

Thanks again for covering for me last week, Monitor. Good question, too.

    1. Bret Hart
    2. Road Warriors
    3. Jake "The Snake" Roberts
    4. Archie "The Stomper" Gouldie
    5. Bruiser Brody

Basically, I'm a fan of wrestling I can believe in when I want to. All of the above make it easy to be a fan and have fun watching. Sadly, Jake's recent public meltdown makes me feel sorry for the guy. If you're a Jake Roberts fan and you haven't seen this video you might not want to follow the link. It will break your heart:

I saw that on the TMZ show. It was heart-breaking, especially after he showed up on RAW not that long before all cleaned up and doin' the job to that smug sumbitch Randy Orton. No way am I censoring that last part there.

Well, I think this discussion should be continued.

I prefer the new generation of wrestlers

    1. Super Dragon
    2. RVD
    3. Nick Mondo
    4. B Boy
    5. Tie: H8 Club (Nick Gage and Justice Pain) and BLKOUT (Ruckus, Sabian, and Joker.)

    1. Super Dragon always has a great match, multi talented, he gives a variety of submission manuvers giving some of the best a challenge, than gives you a violent beatdown with his flurry of backchops, elbows, punches, stiff as hell clothesline, and to finish it off nasty curbstomb or any of the Pyscho Drivers. He also rolls with the hardcore debuting the PWG Guerrilla Warfare match which he has destroyed opponents.

    2. RVD got me into wrestling, his unique style and innovative moves gave you something to see. He can do a ton of ground moves (many people don't see this), and gives good karate style kicks. Surprising people from the air with his frog splash, Van Terminator, and his moonsault.

    3. Nick Mondo gave the fans a show, with his ultraviolent bumps and display of extreme measures to end the match, giving us some of the most gut wrenching moments in CZW history, from the weedwacker to the 40ft fall.

    4. B Boy on every scale gives you an equal to Super Dragon in where he trades the curbstomp for the true Shining Wizard, and the Pyscho Driver for the Delikado.

    5. H8 Club will [freaking] destroy you, enough said. BLKOUT has been in CZW for a damn long time, Ruckus using his high flying skills to get rid of the contenders, Sabian uses the Black Jesus stomp to end it all, and Joker will give you the end with the Joker Driver.

This sort of discussion can always be revived....thanks for answering it.

I'll have to see what I can find from these guys, as I'm not familiar with any of them aside from American Dragon. I've heard the names before for some of them at least.

    Thanks for the tip(s).

Not American Dragon, SUPER Dragon, two completely different people, don't mean to sound like a smartass
