Yeah, that is one of the only smackdowns that I still own. The GM mode is the only reason why I keep it. I bought 07 a few months ago when it dropped to $20, but the GM mode is terrible on it :( So, I rarely ever play it.
I haven't played SvR 06 for a long time, but only because I'm on the 360 these days. I'm starting to wonder, having read the interview with Cory Ledesma on IGN, whether THQ/Yukes actually pay attention to their fans at all? Haven't they wondered why Here Comes the Pain is still regarded as the best of the Smackdown series? I don't know if anyone else agrees, but I think the series has been very boring since they started introducing voice acting, commentary and storylines. For me they just limit what you can do rather than enhance the game. How boring was the storyline mode on the last Smackdown for instance? And the rubbish system for building stats?
