hey ive read on PWX website that there will not be TLC matches, but there will be chairs and ladders, can u be more specific wut can u do with the ladders, can u get on em and jump in a suicidal move? and can u pull ur enemy on a table and then execute a nasty move? oh and one more thing... u said there will not be any hell in a cell match, but sometin similar, well can u give me more details? thank you :D
TLC's (I think) are trademarked by the WWE and PWX must pay the WWE in order to include the match type in the game... And I know Dave isn't going to include the TLC exactly for that reason..
cool wot about a cage match and will you be able to do Sabu style manvoers with the chairs such as setting them up and running and jumping off them or legdropping with a chair?

TLC could easily be rename to hardcore Ladder match, it's not a big deal.
TBH Roofed Cage Of Doom is way too... how do I put this... corny? I dunno I don't think that's the right word, go with the simple way of just calling it a Cell match.
Steel Cage is still a gimmick match, a classic gimmick match, but a gimmick match nontheless. I lve gimmick matches, but they are definitely second to base gameplay.
Simple? What does that mean a cage aroung the ring like a real cell match or like the one in hell in a cell.About the name it's pretty easy to change it I don't think there will be any lawsuit issues and the TLC match is called that just by the WWE normaly most people call them hardcore matches the diffrence is that the title is above the ring big deal.
Now the thing, the type of match that PWX ain't gonna include I'm sure is the elimination chamber but I'm not sorry for that. That type of match is fun to watch but kinda anoying to play
[cite] PWX_Dave:[/cite]I played an Elimination Chamber match exactly twice in my entire life. Might be fun against human opponents but against AI it was...ugly.
If I remember correctly, the AI for the match in HCTP was actually decent, but the sequels made them abuse the chambers too much.

Man in SVR 07, I grow weary of Batista climbing the cage, then shuffling on down to the top of the chamber.
I'd like as many gimmick matches that are still wrestling based as possible - by which I mean 2/3 falls, ironman, submissions only, that kinda stuff. Surely that wouldn't be too difficult to implement. It's different scoring systems but there's no added jiggery pokery. Ladders, cages, exploding nonsense matches can be added to the sequel.
The first thing PWX has to do is get basic matches down right... ie standard single, standard tag team. You can play with rules from there (falls anywhere, no-dq, etc.), so hardcore shouldn't be tough...
But getting into gimmick matches? I'm sure the team is going to prioritize and get in what they can, but I wouldn't expect too much. If the gameplay is right, I personally wont care how many match types there are.
I hope that the rules of the match types can be carefully tweaked. Throwing over the top rope, attacking with closed fists, flying off top (instead of middle) buckle, attacking an opponent on the ropes etc should all be optional grounds for disqualification so we can give our classic retro matches an authentic "sporting" feel.
what i dont understand is why all guys here talked only about the cage match, i asked a question about the interaction of the characters with the ladders.... I once played a wrestling game were the ladders could be used only as weapons (u could only hit the oponent with it ) and u couldnt even climb em to jump off them... i hope thats not going to be the only thing 2 do with ladders in PWX... is it??

All they need is standard weapons, a Ladder (with the right options), tables (same), and a standard cage. I honestly hate the Hell in a Cell match. It's a truly pointless match. And yes, this is regardless of the fact that it gave a few of the more recent memorable spots in wrestling. I just think it's a waste. There's no competition to it. The fact that there have been no weapons basically in any video game iteration of the match makes it worse, but the fact that there's no point other than beating the guy down from a higher level, is just lame. I mean we have the Hammerlock balcony for that. And I'm sure the Hammerlock won't be the only 2-level arena in the game.
Save yourselves some trouble. Ladders tables, Chairs and other standard weapons -- Cheese graters, light tubes, bats, 2x4's, barbed-wire/flaming bats/2x4's, kendo sticks, etc. At least those can all be context-sensitive and have the same mechanics.
As far as deathmatches, well I think the standard Japanese stuff would be more than welcome, because it's never been truly realized in game. Just copy Fire Pro Returns' deathmatches. Those matches in full 3D = instant success.
Besides the standard cage match if done properly is a million times better than a Hell in a Cell match. I mean even in deathmatches the point is to decimate your opponent by any means. The difference is throughout the match, you'll definitely be on the outside whether you want to or not. With Hell in a Cell, there's no point in leaving the ring, it's big enough, and they can access weapons, why go up top.
Trust me do the standard stuff well, and you won't need Hell in a Cell. But tables ladders, chairs, a few weapons and cage is mandatory in my opinion. If want to truly stand out people should be able to essentially boot up two screens, one with PWX and one with Smackdown. Regardless of how pretty or not the games look, when they see proper working mechanics in your game compared to the broken pile of shit that Smackdown is, that's what sells your game.
All I can say is, if you're able to do moves onto weapons and through items, that's all you need. I've never, correct me if I'm wrong, played a wrestling game where wrestler's can put an opponent through a unfolded chair or even do more than one move on a flat chair, lol.
