I've been playing Wrestling Encore 2008 for about two monthes and I was thinking that you should be able to free roam to the ring in entrance. You should be able to do your taunts, go by the fans, do a canned animation of you slapping hands, Trigger Fireworks and Trigger effects. Then when you get to the ring you can run and slide in, walk up the step or simply do your ring in animation. You go in the ring taunt or what ever and when you are done you press the start button.
its actually a cool Idea, as long as we can press start and skip when we're not in the mood to go through the motions. it would be awesome for the career mode as fan interaction should be one of the things your character needs in order to get popular and go through the ranks. It goes good with that idea someone had about ripping up signs for heel characters. Some thing to make the character development more unique than other games.
It would be very cool for career mode. Immersion. I like it. But I agree for mood sake in exhibition and online it should be skippable. Plus you shouldn't be able to take too long getting to the ring else you're punished by fan attitude... as in they get bored maybe

I would support "free-roaming" entrance for House Shows in career mode, but then, as one of the indications that you're becoming a bigger name, the story would have you Create An Entrance for career mode (think of the Tony Hawk UnderGround 1 challenge where you have to Create A Special Trick and successfully land a such-and-such-point combo with it) that you would use until you're big enough to be booked on PPVs, where your booker would then have you Create A PPV Entrance with fireworks and special effects. Then finally, once you're big enough to make it to the big show, your booker will ask you if you want a huge gi-normously overblown entrance (HBK's WM 12 zip-line entrance, LoD's SummerSlam 1993 motorcycle entrance, Undertaker's WM 20 entrance, Triple H's WM X7, X8, and 21 entrances, et al.).
THAT is the kind of entrance stuff I would support. And if "Create An Entrance" is already in the works, then it would be cake to implement it as an event in career mode.
Also, I have an idea so you don't have to be annoyed by the entrance yet still can change it. I figure you can have a certain number of preset taunts to do at certain points. Like say when you character comes out you can press a button and he/she will do that taunt at the stage, BUT if you don't press any buttons, he/she will do the default chosen taunt. Then when he/she gets to the ramp, you get a chance to press a button. I figure right before the character gets to the ring area, you can have certain taunt that will have him go around the ring or whatever, going into a another preset.
So the idea is that you will have options available, but you don't have to do it if you don't want to.
I agree, but only in a career mode for immersion's sake. Recreating the indy scene would be a tremendous thing. Especially if an unlicensed Lacey were in the game able to shrilly cuss out the crowd while ripping signs and blocking cameras and all sorts of other contemptible things. I know I've said this in the past, but when other people give me an open door, I can no nothing other than to walk through it. And post.
I'm sure "cursing out the crowd" and "ripping fan signs in half" could be part of the Create-An-Entrance repertoire (the "cursing out the crowd" entrance taunt was in the FIRST Legends of Wrestling game, so it should be simple here).
