Did you see the new PWX video footage? If not -
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNvY8OV18vg

So - I can personally say two things - you should make the guy jump off the turnbuckle, not shoot himself from it. Also - at the end the wrestler didn't do a full turn when he turned on his back...
But still - pretty nice - I love the game! RELEASE IT!!!

I'm not so concerned with the the bugs as much as other things in that clip. The more I see of that AKI-inspired grappling engine the more the less I'm able to tolerate it.
Additionally, I don't like the way that Boston crab was released. The opponent should either reverse it, escape from it or reach the ropes. Otherwise it seems arbitrary to lock on a hold only to break it yourself a few seconds later.

Some of those animations looks superb - really smooth and remind me of ASPW3/Legends of Wrestling.

    The bugs lol

    * After the first move he flips around as he gets up
    * The boston crab... kinda look like the legs of the guy on the floor warp up into the other guys arms - or they dont move up at all - I cant really tell
    * When he attempts a grapple as the other guy is still on the floor he warps to his feet
    * Then as he gets to his feet after hitting the arm whip he kinda wiggles back and forth in a undertaker on one knee pose

Animation of him leaping from the top rope still isn't there ... there isn't enough of a leap from the top into the air and then down. Weridly enough though - in the other video you have http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pfZWO8gVTM when it's viewed from the opposite it doesn't look as bad :/

    * slight jumps in animations here and there for example just after the final move we can see the opponent warps from his side onto his back as he rolls over... if that makes sense.

I agree about the submission release - it's nothing major but i guess it would be better to have the opponent break the hold - im not a fan of the grab the ropes that THQ have as it results in the wrestlers sliding across the ring like its made of ice. Best case scenario would probably be an animation where the opponent gets a leg free and then the attacker breaks the hold themselves and if you do it next to the ropes they grab at the ropes - although even the THQ games suffer from 'I'm at the ropes!!?? why isn't my guy grabbing them and why isn't it breaking!!???' at times. So maybe just an auto break if your wrestler is next to the ropes and if the move is done in the ropes proximity then it gets an auto rope break.

I like the angel's wings animation
And although the jump looks unrealistic I think it's kinda cool :d

That was fast! I just put that up the other day for kicks. I agree that the double axe handle needs more height. Dane should also not have a range that far which also makes the animation appear fast and LOW-ish. We'd love to release it! Unfortunately, the idiot who runs our company (that would be me) didn't sign the smartest deal...

Thanks for the feedback. I do hope that everyone realizes we promise to keep expanding on the grapple system as we go. It would suck if we kept it so basic forever. I also agree that more ways to end a submission animation are needed. At this point we totally admit to keeping it simple.

Really?! Thank you for the compliment and I totally back our hardworking animators but that's some pretty high praise in the case of the ASPW3 comparison. I could only hope we achieve that level of animation quality across the board.

You nailed most of the other bugs. Good eye KRad! The Boston Crab had some alignment issues in that video (it's fixed now) and the double axe handle shown in other videos travels a shorter distance so it doesn't look quite as goofy.

Most of the crew has been pushing pretty hard to add a crawling to ropes animation for every submission. As you can imagine though, that would radically increase the animation costs and we don't exactly have a Yukes sized budget.

Thanks! The double axe handle looks good when done to an opponent standing outside the ring. Kudos to the animators and programmers for getting that working nicely as well.

Thanks again for the feedback guys. Nice to know we can rely on you guys for bug killing.
