    3) Question of the Week

    1) Ears open, mouth shut
    ********************************

Short newsletter this week, guys. The crap has really hit the fan lately regarding our funding situation. I don't know if it's going to get worse before it gets better but at least something HAS to happen now. I've got meetings all day and I doubt I'll even get to look at Uprising before I go to sleep tonight. What a gong show. Thank God for our lawyer.

Speaking of our lawyer, he can now claim to have been a witness to my most embarassing professional moment. He invited me to meet with some other companies his firm represents and I don't think I'm going to get invited back. Long story short, one of the people at the table told me his company had hired someone who used to be on the PWX project whom I fired a while back. He told me what a wonderful employee this person was and something in me just snapped. I went off like a rabid teenage girl Springer guest with PMS letting him know exactly what I thought of the guy. It wasn't pretty. In front of the whole group we got into a loud argument and I refused to back down. I think I actually used the term "waste of skin." Needless to say he wasn't thrilled that I publicly berated his company's hiring standards in front of his colleagues. But I was way out of line and shouldn't have acted that way in front of everyone. I apologized after for doing so, but not for what I had said. It was all true and I did him a professional courtesy by alerting him to my experiences.

Wish I had that on film. Classic.

Is there anyway I can have some proof that the money I paid will actually get me a game? I paid in December with promise of a demo a month later, shit happened, no demo. That's fine. I understand how horrible the industry can be, but it's almost August, and I have nothing to show for it. Is there some list to prove that I have my purchase and that I will receive what I paid for or even get a refund and just pay full price when it comes out?

Sorry, but these newsletters are a bit depressing for a game that I already paid for.

    Should've waited.

    Hindsight is 20/20.

I still support the game, but now, I could definitely use the $10 I spent on a PSN game or two.

Isn't that kid good?! I love that video.

As for Uprising being late, man can we ever sympathize. I'd say the crew is about ready to go on a murderous rampage over it. When we opened pre orders for Uprising we did so under the assumption that we could release the game when we wanted to. If we knew it would get held up in bureaucratic limbo for this long we would have said so from the start. Even though it's not our fault it's still a very embarrassing and humiliating situation that we HOPE is near a resolution. I can't talk about the details publicly but as soon as we're able to release Uprising you can be sure I'll follow it with plenty of venting about why exactly it was delayed. At least they can't prevent us from showing video footage, screenshots, etc.

That being said, THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who plopped down a pre order. You literally helped get the game to point where it was considered finished and it was a huge boost to the crew to see you guys support their work in that way. Again, if we had known there would be this frustrating hold up we could have said so at the time.

Eric, you deserve to feel frustrated and although I can guarantee you the game will be released and you will receive it you can email me any time to arrange a refund. No problem at all. I honestly do hope you'll hang with us just a little while longer and celebrate with the rest of us when the game is released to the rest of those who pre ordered but if you'd rather not I completely understand. It's all good.

Now if everyone could just please keep their fingers crossed for us because we were told on Friday that we would receive the final production closure on Monday...

Thanks again everyone. Your support and incredible patience is appreciated more than you will ever know.

I think I was just venting.

It just feels like every newsletter we get good news one week and bad news the next week. I'd love to have some mid-week updates on production, and maybe even some ideas on when this game is going to get out. I'll definitely stick around, but it's just getting to the point where I feel like I paid for nothing. Time will certainly tell, though. In the meantime, more videos?
  2.
    Yeah, more videos.

You could do a 'move of the week' feature or something.

If it's taxing to do that sort of thing you should get someone to take care of that side of the project. There's nothing that disheartens a fanbase faster than a website that hasn't been updated in months.
