1) Failure to connect ********************************
Failure to connect. Sometimes that message is a mild irritation like when trying to connect to the studio server after some renovations that required ripping the network apart. Oopsie! But a failure to connect can test the very foundation of your sanity when what you're failing to connect with is the very lifeblood of your project and your company. It's killing me that I can't rant and rave publicly about the crap our company has been put through so far this year because I just want to vent and yell and scream. Uprising was supposed to be out over six months ago and the delay is not our fault! ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!
Given our current situation, is it really to much to ask to have my calls and emails returned?
But in happier news this week some other people have managed to connect with us. We've been offered our own documentary television series. I said that I didn't think a bunch of guys in a room making a game would make for an interesting show and the reply was, "We didn't think a bunch of guys in a garage building motorcycles would make for a good show either." Good point. Still, even if the show gets made it likely wouldn't start filming until late 2008 anyway. That is if they ultimately decide to even air it, which they haven't yet.
And one last connect we had this week came from an Angel investor. The guy is definitely serious as I couldn't even learn his name until I signed a non-disclosure agreement. Which also means I can't say anything else about it.
2) Bug List ************ Kendal politely pointed out two new bugs to add to the bug list:
-Not enough Iron Maiden -Chuck Norris is not a playable character
Good eye Kendal!
3) Link of the Week ********************
We have a long list of intimate experience with things that suck about the game industry. Looks like someone put together their own insider Top Ten list:
The shoes and the hat go FINE together...it's the BELT that's all wrong. And the pants. And the shirt. And your watch. So basically, the shoes and hat are the ONLY things that match. Great.
