    1) Restart the match
    ********************************

Remember how I said that tv show we were going to make a game for had their funding pulled?
Well, fast forward to this week and the broadcaster involved jumped in to save it with a contract offer to license and fund the project. Good news for us! But perhaps a little too late to continue with the original plan of doing a fully separate game for them.
We still want to get Uprising out later this summer and I'm not willing to wait until the show airs. I spoke to the broadcaster yesterday and they understand my position and they are still willing to sponsor Uprising and help market it as well. I follow up Monday with a cost proposal for the sponsorship plan.

In other news, we're finally nearing the end of our other investor drama. You know, the one that we're arguing about our final payment with. There seems to be some disagreement with regard the some of the costs we submitted. Even though I had to pay for a $10,000 independent audit that confirmed each and every expense I guess it wasn't quite good enough. Making games is fun!

But in some related news I got approached by a representative by a Vancouver investment group that has set up a fund specially intended to invest in start up game companies that show high potential. Hello! I'm supposed to hear more about this on Wednesday. Come to daddy...

    2) Players Selected
    *****************************************

Monitor (our awesome PWX forum mod) has been bugging me to post a shot of the Uprising character select screen so here she be:

    http://img79.imageshack.us/my.php?image=uprisingcharacterselecthq8.png

Major credit for the character select screen (and pretty much the entire Uprising
menu) has to go to Eric who also designed our logo, website, and keeps me from jumping off tall buildings from time to time. He even ENJOYED playing around with the coding of the menu as well. Geeeeeeeek! Of course, other crew members had a hand in helping with some of the art assets, programming, etc. and I think they all did a fine job.

    3) The Legion of Mod
    *********************

The mods just keep rolling in! I wish I had time to post in game pics of every mod we've recieved so far but there are just too many. It's a nice problem to have! But please enjoy the mods I am able to post this week which include an original character named Zero sent in by Scott and Sting and Hawk sent in by KRadiation on the PWX boards. The Nitro mat was sent in by Dave.

    Thanks guys!

Thanks to Karen from ProWrestlingDigest.com for politely pointing out that not everyone has a Facebook account to view the pics I had posted over there. I hope Imageshack works better for everyone.

    4) Link of the Week
    ********************

I'm very happy to help promote a book written by a long time supporter of PWX. I'm definitely looking forward to reading my copy and I encourage you all to check out Blue Collar Ballet by C Ra McGuirt.

    http://www.bluecollarballet.com/

The book was originally published in 1993 and is a memoir not unlike Mick Foley's "Have a Nice Day". But there is a difference (all due respect to Mick). Nobody waved a fat advance payment in front my Mr. McGuirt's face to write the book nor was he guaranteed the WWE marketing machine to push it. He wrote the book because he lived a damn interesting life in the indy wrestling scene before it was cool or acceptable to break kayfabe. I believe its important to support people who do things out of a love for what they do and not just because they know it will sell.

Good luck with the book, Mr. McGuirt!

    5) Question of the Week
    ************************

That Ring of Hell book we've been talking about lately (and that I still haven't read) generated an interesting question that has us all stumped. Maybe you can come up with an answer?

How many pro wrestlers made it to the top of the industry without resorting to performance enhancing drugs (allegedly at least) or spots any more dangerous than a piledriver?

The discussion is continuing down at the end of this forum thread:

In the meantime and in-between time, that's it. Another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.

    Thank you for your support,
    Dave Wishnowski

Here's hoping that once you select a character, a separate menu asks you to "CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY".

Is that Sting the old sting or the 2nd version with the better quality scorpion?

It looks like the scale between the designs is way off for the upper body and underwear - The underwear part looks correct - its the other 2 that are fluffing it up. Still not bad considering it was done blindly.

    -

Seems weird that they're stalling the last chunk of funding - i mean surely they can see what you've done so far, can see how close you are to completion and with an independent audit they cant dispute anything.

    Insane.

I loved your Hawk & Sting. I'm crazy about the Road Warriors...just look at my forum name. KRadiation you're a really outstanding caw maker...especially considering what you had to work with...imagine what you could do with all the necessary tools & pieces.

I am really impressed. Of course their is room for improvement but a 8/10 for me.

Also the menu selection screen looks very good. Basic & no fany stuff...that's all you need.

I'm not THAT good - i basically 'borrowed' No Mercy mod textures, WWE SDvR textures and a few other bits from the RAW game on the pc (and RAW 2) - Then stretched the files to fit the pwx textures.

When Uprising comes i'll be looking at making the mods from scratch so they look more sharp and the logo's aren't blurred

There used to be programs that transferred SvR textures to WWE RAW textures. The community should make something like that for PWX
  2.
KRadiation if i post a Dr. Death Steve Williams pic from KOC...can you see what you can do with it in PWX?

    Thank You.
