One of our trusted advisers is of the opinion that free games that let you buy item upgrades only work if you can play online and show off your upgrade items to everyone else. Do you agree or disagree?
Disagree. Look at Adventure Quest and DragonFable. Completely free games, and of my last playing, no sort of multiplayer. Just the ability to view character profiles.

Me too. I don't exactly know what you are asking in this question but i will give it a try anyway.
Let me paraphrase what you are trying to say: One of your trusted advisers believes that...(Free games that let you buy item upgrades) ONLY will be successful if you can play online & show off your upgrade items to everyone else.
I disagree with this.
I believe it will help if you can play the game online & show off your bought item upgrades but it doesn't necessarily mean you have to do what your advisor says in order for free game to be a success. I think it can be a success without being played online.
I don't play alot of videogames much but i disagree with the advisor.
I also think that exploring an xbox 360 version of the game can be very profitable. PWX on the xbox live arcade marketplace could make a hell of a lot of people that never heard of PWX aware of it. Definitely an online playable wrestling game alternative could make some heads turn. And selling content on xbox live will probably more profitable than on the pc because its impossible to mod the game in that format. You want the game to be accessible to modders and while I do appreciate that it also eliminates a lot of financial revenue. Releasing both a PC and XBLA version of the game will keep hardcore fans happy because they can mod on the pc, but also be good for business because outfits and what not can be sold for the 360. Increasing revenue and creating a new audience, it would easily be the most thoroughly developed and complicated XBLA title. Just some food for thought. I heard porting PC to Xbox 360 is smoother than with any other console as well, so Im thinking it might not be too difficult to pull off.
I can point to the fact that I have bought EVERYTHING available to purchase for Oblivion.
Hell...I have for Marvel Ultimate Alliance as well..never go on-line with it. Forza 2, Saint's Row, Rock Band, have all gotten more money from me via XBL downloads...and I have only played any of them on-line maybe a couple of times.
I have no idea. And I want to know now what game engine was used in this game. I want to join in the development group do something. I think use different game engine for different game platform is good. example, use XNA for XBOX360, use Quest3D or NeoAxisEngine for Windows. Now where can I download the current beta version of this game?

HUH! I am at a loss for words! LoL
Okay first of all you CANNOT download the beta version of this game because their is non available to the public yet but will be shortly (it's called Uprising & their will be a free downloadable version & a paid version available for $14.99 with 8 characters).
This game is mainly based off the legendary AKi wrestling game WWF No Mercy where you tap a button for a light grapple & hold button for strong grapple. You remember that one right? Yes its my favorite wrestling game of all time. Alot of fun!!!
As for different engines for different gaming platforms they don't have enough money to pursue something like this unless i don't understand in some way what you trying to say. And it may not be worth it to begin with. They are having a hard time as it is paying the bills & getting the next funding.
Were it only so easy to port a game over. We've built a wrestling game in four different engines now since the early prototype phase and it was nearly a complete ground up re-write in every case.
