Just my two cents here, but it's discouraging when I check the front page of the site and see the same thing I saw there 2 months ago. A little blog, a bit of news, something on a weekly basis might serve you guys well.
The front page should be updated weekly. Add some videos of Uprising in action. Add a character roster. Do weekly reviews with members of the staff and people involved and their take. Hype is the key to a good game that has no chance in a big market.
I have said it again and again, this is the gamers last chance a good and fun wrestling game.
While I would like to see the website updated regularly, I know why it isn't.
There are a couple reasons I can think of off the top of my head.
1) The webmaster isn't a member of the crew, at least in the sense that he doesn't work at the studio. He donates his time on top of working a full time job.
2) The limited crew works on the actual GAME, so there is no one at the studio with the time & ability to update the website.
Do we really want them to spend funds on hiring someone to update the website regularly or use those funds on development of the game?
all due respect my friend, #2 is irrelevant. First off, anyone who codes a wrestling game can learn to upload a photo.
second, photos can be created and uploaded on a lunch break in about 15 minutes. prowrestlingx.com is really the only public advertising vehicle at this point. if 15 minutes need to be taken away from development in order to update some pictures or God forbid a gameplay video, my opinion is that it is a neccessary business evil.
Trust me, the last thing I want to do is update my company's Web site... it's my desire that ALL time should be devote to paying clients. But that can be a huge small business mistake.
Exactly. The title still is relatively unknown on Youtube save for Ryan Werra or whatever that thing was. We need to push this game as the new wrestling alternative. TNA is already looking to be a huge disappointment, so this is PWX's time to step up; however, that is impossible without advertisers.
The team should look up on Youtube what SVR09 is doing and emulate that. They are showing so many aspects of the game instead of a teaser trailer, and fans are eating it up. Start posting a video compilation of each wrestler, showcasing their big moves. Hell, I am sure if you gave the game to some of us we could create a compelling trailer to make this game really buzzing. Also, post a small interview with Dave on Youtube, with him explaining how he started, why he started, and all his issues. People will be buzzed.

I agree it should be done. I was just saying I understand why it isn't done. I'm sure anyone that is coding the game CAN upload photos, etc. Getting them to do it when they have a long list of other things they are working on is a different story.
We suck at regular updates on the site and we totally know it. I think I may finally be ready to cave in to the blog bug and transition away from the email newsletter.
As for gameplay video, same thing. No matter which way we go with Uprising distribution it's time to start compiling gameplay footage and showing it. As for doing Youtube interviews...I hadn't really considered it. Might be worth a laugh at least to give it a try
Plus a myspace page is also a good venue for advertising. I mean Im sure most of us have one, and alot of us have hundreds of friends on them. If we add your page and ask our friends to add your page then little by little the buzz will puck up. And the best part its free!!! They also have a video server ala youtube but have less restrictions on time and quality.
