A little market research question today. What is your level of interest in the
    upcoming UFC game from THQ?

I don't watch pro wrestling anymore (outside of NOAH), but I love the UFC and MMA in general, so I'm psyched about the upcoming UFC game. PRIDE GP 2003 stands as my current favorite MMA title, although I enjoyed the past UFC games, as well.

I hated the last couple of UFC games on Xbox, they just didn't seem to translate the feeling of MMA when I played them. Plus you can spam the same couple of moves over and over again if you use the right guy and make it pretty far.

It would have to be a LOT different to pique my interest.

I don't follow UFC or MMA so I wouldn't know much and probably struggle with all the foreign names. I only know like some names like Chuck Liddel and whoever was that guy who was in TNA for a bit (I forgot his name see! lol) and I've seen just some UFC. I tried following it, but got bored.

So I'd rather play a game based on a sport, show, movie, etc... that I'm more familiar with. =) I once gotten a drag racing game (was given to me) for my PS1 and I tried playing it, but my zero understanding or interest of drag racing wasn't enough for me to get into it. I think I even screwed up my car in the game lol.

...I think this question was more geared towards the UFC/MMA fans then non fans... But I just wanted to post.
  1.
I really like MMA and UFC in real life, but my attempts to play such type games have seemed sort of disappointing so far. Perhaps it's all too subtle for me, which is das, because it's the subtleties, especially in grappling, which attract me to MMA and UFC to begin with.
  2.
Im looking forward to a decent game. Im hoping the look at games like Pride Fc and even Koc 2 to get Ideas from. With the new technologies available I believe a good MMA game is not so much as if its coming but when. I would think a good boxing sim would be available before it though, but then again FNR3 pleased fight fans with arcade style presentation. I'll definitely check the UFC game out though hopin to see that ever impressive roster UFC has assembled over the last year or so.
  3.
I'll be interested in it if it doesn't suck but I'm not that optimistic. Honestly, with the UFC's popularity, they could probably release SD:SYM with UFC caws and sell like crazy. THQ and UFC aren't known for doing more than absolutely necessary, imo. If someone could combine the striking engine from Konami's K-1World Grand Prix for the PS2 with top-notch grappling, that would be perfect.
  4.
I only watched UFC once...and that was when Brock Lesnar fought Mir. That's the only time i ever watched UFC.

And i saw that on youtube not PPV.

As for a UFC game i'm not interested in it at all because i'm not a big fan of UFC. I only watched it for Brock Lesnar because i loved wrestling alot & was impressed by him when he wrestled for the WWE (not impressed by his politics). I was hoping he won the damn thing but although he lost, he impressed enough.

That's the word LOVED wrestling. I used to watching wrestling religiously back in the mid 80s until 2003. After that i rarely watched it. The magic is gone. It just doesn't grab me like it used to. I don't know of any superstar today that has an aurora or specialness about them like Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant or the Road Warriors. The last time i watched wresting is when Bret Hart was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

I'm stoked for it, but really, there is nothing announced about the game other than its being done by THQ and the video released many, many months ago of a pre-rendered fight between Rampage and Chuck. The past UFC and PRIDE games have kind of sucked.

They never did striking well. K-1 for PS2 is still, to this day incredible to play because of the depth.

I wasn't even aware that a game was being made, let alone close to release....

However, I'll probably check it out, at least...even though I follow UFC and MMA in general very infrequently.

Sad to say, but RPG's are getting the most play out of me lately....I'm finally going back and playing a lot of the RPG's I have owned for years, but never put much time into.

Fable is currently getting my time (Downloaded from the Xbox Market Place)

Ken isn't under a Zuffa contract, so its doubtful you'll see him. Zuffa is like WWE in the whole contract department. I really, really wish MMA was regulated differently.

    Nope.

Being a wrestling fan doesn't automatically translate as being a mixed martial arts fan.

Just never got into UFC. At least with pro wrestling the moves look good and are clear cut. I suppose there's the thing about two people actually duking it out, but I'm just not interested in that. And why would you want a fake simulation of that, if you're into that? I dunno.

I may check it out. Sadly, imo, to this day, the best UFC game was the first one on Dreamcast. I enjoy Pride FC on PS2 and many will say the MMA matches in KOC II are better but I'm yet to see it. I just the new UFC game has a kick ass single player as well as online mode with stat tracking, rankings, lobbys, the whole shabangbang! It looks good in motion, I'll give it that, Monk....

I hadn't heard of a new UFC game comming out as well but if THQ are the developpers I doubt it would be anything fantastic maybe just flashy graphics that's all

I'm pretty sure THQ is just publishing it. I don't think they themselves are making the game. Sorta like the WWE deal they have.

I'm interested. Without more details, however, I'm not really optimistic or pesimistic. We'll have to wait and see. But I am looking forward to playing it, just not as much as PWX, SD v RAW 09 or TNA iMPACT.

I don't envy the developers of MMA games. Either you aim to please the hardcore elite MMA fans with a simulation that would bore the hell out of casual gamers (much like actual UFC fights are boring to most people once they go to the ground) or they aim for fun gameplay over authenticity and invoke the wrath of the sport's biggest fans. Tough call and I don't know if there is any middle ground to be had.

None, zero, zip. I find watching MMA a bore, I don't really wanna play a video game in which I spend 3 minutes in a rear naked choke trying to decide weather to tap out or not.

My stance exactly. But I'd be willing to bet there are as many MMA fans who would prefer that type of game as there are wrestling fans who actually like the new submission system on SvR.

U wouldn't be in a RNC for 3 minutes u would go to sleep and not taping would probably have career threatening ramifications
