I now have Vista Premium and was wondering if the game has been tested with Vista. I havent exprerienced more than 1 or 2 incompatibilities with Vista since I installed Service Pack 1, and those were only on old games, so no problem. So as you understand I got worried, that this might not work, unless of course it has been tested.
(new specs by the way are: Intel Quad Core @ 2.40Ghz not overclocked, no need to (=9.6Ghz totally) Asus GeForce8800GTX 768 Mb 2 Gb Ram @ 800Mhz 1 TB Memory etc.)
Your CPU doesn't actually add up to 9.6ghz. Granted if you were just using that as an illustration and not a measure of performance, then more power to you. Pimp system, though. Makes me wish I made more money so I could update this dinosaur of mine.

My "old" Pc (bought in 2003) served me well but can't play any game from 2007 and later releases, even though there could be one or two exceptions. Anyway, I had been saving for like 6 months, and my parents also gave me a "helping hand"( they actually paid for 50% of it, though I didn't ask them to ). I believe you can set aside some of the money you get (I believe you work, because you say "wish I MADE more money"), and sell your current PC. You can even get a get a great PC for like 500$ nowadays.
Concerning the CPU, you said it doesnt actually add up to 9.6ghz. How come? If I am not mistaken, every core runs at 2.4, and the system has 4 cores. So 4*2.4=9.6Ghz.
[quote][cite] PWX_Dave:[/cite]Yup, so far runs on every Vista machine we've tested it on. Vista is a bit of a pig though and in my experience it runs best on a solid XP machine.[/quote]
If I recall correctly, on a Dual Core machine you get approximately 70-80% or so of the sum of the two cores in processes that are optimized to take advantage of the technology.

(=2 cores) I have a quad core. (=4cores) Which runs at 2.40Ghz each core. =9.6Ghz There are videos on youtube showing quad cores (mine included) running like 2 or 3 games simultaneously.
yeah i got a 2.8 quad core with 16gbs ram i could probably try my hand at world domination with this thing lol. But Im not a fan of vista so Im glad it runs best on XP

16gbs of Ram? That's what made me realise you were joking. Anyway, it doesn't "run best" on XP because XP support by games and programs will be discontinued soon.
I'm not joking at all. I have four 4gb sticks of ram. Newegg.com had a deal on them for $110 each so i got 4 of them. My motherboard caps at 20. And yeah its inevitible that xp will become obsolete but I still prefer it to vista. And since I'm really a console gamer anyway PWX is the only pc game i worry about, so if it runs on XP the hell with it im happy. I could always dual boot vista If i need to.
No im a sound engineer and Im studying graphic design. I want to be able to run Pro Tools and Photoshop and 3ds max simultaneously with no worries at all. PC's actually do work when in the right hands. When I want to play games I have a shit load of consoles to choose from. I haven't seen any game for pc thats as fun as something on Xbox live IMO.

1) I have yet to see a layman's computer that can exceed the graphics on a 360 or much less a PS3 2) FPS's are better on the console because of the lack of precise aim. If I wanted to click on my targets I'd be emulating duck hunt. 3) Yeah if you shell out the money you earn each week on computer parts instead of saving for your next car/house/apartment/drinking binge, then yeah, you can run a high speed high quality FPS. 4) I agree with Snype here too. Halo is better on the Xbox then PC. Half Life 2 is better on the Xbox then PC. Crysis looks pretty and plays like shit. COD 4 is better on the Xbox then PC. And nothing compares to Metal Gear Solid.

Jesus [freaking] christ shut the [heck] up and go jerk off onto your PC or something.
Indeed. I'm not willing to spare the expense of upgrading my PC every 6 months to play the newest bit of kit to see the shiny new graphical changes on an 18" PC monitor, rather than just banging my PS3 (shiny shiny new...) into a 42" plasma screen and leaving it there for 5-6 years. With the additional fact that I play multiplayer games like Pro Evo soccer with friends in the room more than I do online shooters, although I am enjoying Half Life 2 and Portal at the minute, which seem perfectly fine with a Playstation pad, its not the most speed intensive of shooters to be fair.

I can tell you've never played on Xbox Live. For starters if you're a pc gamer, more power to you, would you like a cookie? I'm not a PC gamer that doesn't mean I'm against pc gaming so get off your high horse. Number 2, I have all that ram because I can, like i said it was on sale so I bought it and it makes my pc better for being there. Number 3, a console is a TOY, therefore a TOOl such as a PC will always be superior. No one said anything to the contrary, I just prefer console gaming, end of story. Fighting games on a pc must suck, I mean playing street fighter with a keyboard must be almost as bad wacking off with barbed-wire, Doable but why the f*ck bother?
1) Consoles always were, are, and always will be inferior to PCs in every aspect (graphics and control both included). -The PS3's graphics card is similar to a GeForce7800 which is not much. Controls are always better on the PC, and if you don't like the KEYBOARD, YOU CAN JUST USE A GAMEPAD. SO GET OVER IT my friends BECAUSE CONSOLE CONTROLS SUCK AND THE PC CAN GO BOTH WAYS (either keyboard or gamepad). So please kindly stop arguing with me on that. 2)It's always much better to play a FirstPersonShooter on a PC. -End of story. That's the truth, and if you dont like using a keyboard, ONCE AGAIN you can get a gamepad. The controls of which you CAN edit by the way. 3)" I'm not willing to spare the expense of upgrading my PC every 6 months to play the newest bit of kit to see the shiny new graphical changes on an 18" PC monitor" Suit yourself man, everybody has THEIR OWN BUDGETS. And BY THE WAY, I got a new PC after 5 years so what you said ("upgrading my PC every 6 months") has nothing to do with this. 4)" Fighting games on a pc must suck" You're totally wrong, as I said you can use a gamepad. 5)"Jesus [freaking] christ shut the [heck] up and go jerk off onto your PC or something" You are SO IMMATURE AND PATHETIC. Get out. 6)"I haven't seen any game for pc thats as fun as something on Xbox live IMO" Have you been living in a cave? How can you say that? The PC always has, and always will offer more than the consoles.
OK This is it, the "console vs PC" """"BATTLE"""" is over. Stop flooding the PWX forums with pointless posts, please.
