How it will be? If it will be like SmackDown! 2 KYR (Grapple + direction = move)this will be good. If it will be like No Mercy , WWF RAW and others (Grapple + waiting + direction = move) then it sucks.
no it doesn't. the smackdown system sucks. it had no depth and tons of bugs. wwf no mercy and VPW2 had the best grappling system ever in a wrestling game.
I'll like if it will be some good system. I watched one video SmackDown ! Vs RAW 2008 , i liked that grappling system. If you want to etc. do a suplex you need to press buttons repeatedly (or something) , than opponent will not do a reversal.
PWX Grappling System = 3 Tiers of Grapples like No Mercy.
Works just like No Mercy except you don't have to grapple to do your finisher. You can apply it without grappling like Day of Reckoning which adds an element of surprise. Imagine doing a Stunner outta nowhere on your opponent.
As for strikes...their will be strong & weak stikes. Strong strikes require a grapple, while weak strikes can be done without grappling (example: a low blow).
Grapple initation changes according to level of moves.
well no mercy has that feature now as well. and i don't see why people like constant button mashing. it's stupid, it has no thought to it. it's basically like MK you can just mash the hell out of a button and you'll win.
thank god dave and crew were smart enough to recognize the best engine out there, and try to mimic it with some improvements.
I wouldn't mind a grapple first, then perform move type of grappling system. However, one thing I'm really against is the single grapple initiation animation thats ALWAYS the collar-elbow tie-up. That grappling animation made and makes No Mercy + Fire Pro extremely repetitive and stagnant, and unrealistic imo.
PWX should allow fans do what HCTP did. Let the users choose what grapple initiation animations for which character. Allows characters to actually be unique.

My gripe exactly.

I'd like to see a Touken Retsuden and ASPW hybrid system.
Collar and elbow tieups would occur every now and then, mainly during the opening minutes, but most "grapple" moves would occur from two positions, from which most takedowns in real matches seem to occur:
-When both wrestlers are standing like in TR; the infamous "quick grapple", for low power moves like armdrags and standing rest holds.
and
-When one wrestler raises the other to their feet from a lying or kneeling position, and keeps hold of their head before performing a move, like in ASPW3, for a greater array of more powerful moves like slams and suplexes.
The risk of "spamming" quick moves would be balanced by them inflicting low damage and being easily reversible, whilst the "raising opponent" moves would keep the movesets adequately large and diverse.
What about finisher move? I'll like if it will be non -grappling or something. Such as Jeff Hardy finisher - Swantom Bomb, it's not grapple it's flying move.
I think its fairly safe to say we won't have to grapple to do a Swanton Bomb. Its the likes of Stunners etc that draw this kind of argument. Collar and elbow tie-up, release, kick, Stunner out of nowhere! Bah Gawd!
nah you can combine the special system from SVR into pwx, like i said it was done in no mercy lately so no reason for it not to be in pwx. and a swanton isn't really the problem.

They really need to write this stuff up.
The gameplay, the characters, maybe a movelist. Maybe what they have planned for Create-A-Wrestler.
you need to grapple for strong striking? how stupid is that? i mean if you want to do a big boot, you'll grapple the guy, then release him and boot his face?
like i said stupid idea, no mercy had it right with the strikes as well, weak strikes are if you push the button 1 short time, and strong ones you need to hold it a bit more just like strong grapples.
the only beef i had with that is the had only 3 strong strike slots.
