Well I think we waited so long we can wait a little bit more but that's just how I feel
  1.
this is where you probably have to start thinking like a businessman. you'll probably need to think abt profiting from the game(s) as soon as possible, at the very least to recoup your losses. we understand uprising isn't the game you wanted to release initially, but we also understand uprising will get you to where you need to be in order to make the game you wanted to release. this ain't some xbox live arcade game you're releasing, uprising seems to be, at the VERY least, on par w/snes wrestling games as far as available gameplay options and on par w/late n64/early ps2 wrestling games as far as graphics. you may end up having to treat it as such, which means you may not necessarily be able to charge $20 or even $15 (USD) per copy, but it's definitely worth charging absolutely no less than $5 or $10 (USD). there will be people who buy uprising and pwx no matter the cost, but i'm not one of them; i do have a price limit.

while i'm a huge proponent of free games, it doesn't seems even close to reasonable for even uprising to be free, considering the money and effort put into it. what seems more likely to me, however, is for the final pwx to be $35 or $40 (USD) and for an additional $2 or $5 get uprising "at a discount," after uprising has been around for a bit of course. i do not own an xbox 360 myself, nor do i pay much attention to 360 game price guides, so i don't know what that price would translate to for the 360 version.

I can't pay so I'd like to go free later
I don't mind waiting, but you shouldn't take it from our point of view. If you need money (which you probably do) - take it! You NEED it, not only deserve it...

    Either is fine.

I've already paid for both. If you want to make it free, keep my cash and keep the project going. If you want to keep it pay I look forward to having a wrestling game to play.

You gotta do what you think is best Dave. In the end we're all still behind ya.

I think maybe the idea behind Uprising being released for free is basically a marketing tool to create a larger demand for PWX final. A broader audience is more likely to be attracted to a free game from a new studio that has never published anything before. This way when PWX final comes out you could charge a little bit more for it and hopefully Uprising creates enough hype that many more people buy PWX final. I think in the long run it would probably be better to release uprising for free.

Well..we've waited this long. We can wait longer if we need to...I'm not worried about the pay now, or free later...since I am one of the ones who paid already.

Do I want the game now. Of course. I'll wait until what is best for the company can be put into place.

Even if that means waiting until June or July or even later.

I think a Uprising for free would create a tremendous amount of buzz for PWX.

Has anyone heard of the indie movie "Four Eyed Monsters"? It was released on YouTube for free for anyone to watch and it's gotten over a million and a half views. Now it's being played in smaller theaters in New York.

If PWX came out to download for free, I can see the same thing happening. Everyone that remembered how fun the N64 wrestling games were will give it a try and the hype spreads from there like wild fire. What's really great is that you would be creating hype for the final product. It's not like your giving the final product away. In the end, you'll probably come out more financially stable and with a lot more exposure.

Also, you'd be able to market Uprising as the demo, because in a sense it really is just a demo of what's to come. If you made a demo for Uprising, and then released Uprising for a fee, people might get the wrong impression that Uprising IS the final product.

But ultimately you're going to have to make that decision for yourself considering you know where the company stands financially and what routes you can afford to take. However I do think that a free Uprising to come out later would ultimately be in your best interest, even though I'm in the same boat with those that already paid for it.

This sells your point for me. I was undecided as to which option is best, but that paragraph sums up the ins and outs of the choice, for mine. Well stated.

    Just as InTheZone said,
"If PWX came out to download for free, I can see the same thing happening. I am totally sure that if Uprising came out free to download, a massive amount of people would race to download it, and since I'm sure they would like it, you can later release perhaps an even better version of the game, with much more elements, so people will be willing to buy it even more. Which means you will get more financially stable and what's more, and PWX will be KNOWN by a greater amount of people who as I said will be willing to pay for it in a later release.

You know guys it doesn't really matter what we say the bottom line is it's up to u if u need the money get it and I really doubt any of the big time supporters will argue with you if u decide to release it later for free
  4.
I personally would prefer having it sooner rather than later, so I'm perfectly OK paying for it. Free isn't a bad idea, I'm just an impatient sort :P
  5.
Sooner the better if there's no difference in the product itself.

Whichever one keeps this thing afloat longer.

I'm sure most of us wouldn't mind spending ten bucks or so now, but if it closes any doors, do what you think's right.

Right now we're getting pushed hard on two fronts. The free-to-play people are making a strong case for the business model and at the same time I'm sitting here with a publishing contract that would see us get paid for each unit sold, guaranteed. Both sides have their pros and cons but at the end of the day the one that wins will be the one that steps up and offers us the best long term solution to our needs: independence and ownership of our work.

Whenever I think of this game I imagine an MMO type pay subscription. Not sure why.

couldn't you give a free downloadable demo of about say 1 - 24hours ... just for people to get a taste of that prime rib you been slowly roasting for our hungry bodies to get a taste of ( and others to play it who haven't ... get the buzz going ) . But when that 24 hours is up , in order to swallow that well prepared meal, we'd have to pay to keep playing . I feel that way you could get atleast $10 - $15 without a problem.
I know this is what happend with that dreaded wrestling mpire game I tried downloading. It also had a downloadable demo I could play 3 diffrent times before it wouldn't open anymore, and I couldn't download it again. But they were getting $ 14.99 I believe and PWX looks alot better than that game, as I'm sure it is. But with it not being the final cut I wouldn't Jack the price. I am currently unemployed !! Why couldn't I have been a doctor instead of building houses for a living ... ugh school.
