1) All for Nothing *********************************
Back in the studio this week after last week's excitement and it's nice to be back. I hate being away from my wife and daughter worst of all.
Not much to really report this week as it's been pretty much all paperwork and phone calls regarding distribution of Uprising. As I discussed last week, we have a new offer to deliver Uprising for free. How would we make our money back? The plan is to have someone sponsor the free Uprising via some sort of ad placement and we would share the ad revenue with the company distributing it. Sure, we could do something similar ourselves but the company making the offer has a far bigger profile than we have at the moment so it could be a good partnership of sorts. Of course, it's risky to give Uprising away for free because if the deal fails to generate revenue we can't exactly go back to charging anything for a game that was already available for free. Risky stuff.
Of course, we still have other offers on the table that we're looking at as well. Nothing is ruled out until someone puts an acceptable amount of cash in our bank account. Sorry to sound like a capitalist douche but its true. We gotta make our money back at the very least.
On the plus side, each of the offers we're looking at right now include provisions to produce more games after Uprising and complete the Big Bad PWX.
So we've got a lot of good things over the horizon. But the waiting is annoying if nothing else. Things move slow when dealing with bigger companies that need ten different executives to agree on anything before moving forward.
And so we wait...
2) Screenshot Saturday ***********************
With no new visuals being produced for Uprising there hasn't been a good reason to post anything like we usually do for a few weeks. However, Bill has been experimenting with a new 'smart' camera system that has the potential to have it's own AI and already has it's own collision system. Expect to see a few new in game test shots this weekend from the experimental camera's point of view.

4) Question of the Week ************************
Ok, here's an odd question considering it's not really important at this stage. Thing is, we've got these moves from the balcony working but in order to do them you have to beat your opponent to death so you have enough time to run up the stairs and jump off. It's not really good for anything other than a Fire Pro style post match beat down on a dead opponent. It would be much more useful if you could set the move up while you were both fighting on the balcony and somehow get your opponent thrown to the ring below from there. My concern is that type of thing would give the game a too over the top Mortal Kombat feel (and I hear we already have another wrestling game coming that will suffer that fate). So how would you propose we design it so that it doesn't seem too outlandish? I guess the fall wouldn't be any worse than falling from the top of a cage or Cell but the thing is the opponent would need to fall down as well as back about eight feet to land in the ring.
I don't know, we're treading pretty cheesy ground here unless we can come up with an acceptable solution. What do you guys think?
