Does anybody here have this game and is it worth getting? For those who have no clue as to what it is, it is japanese and it looks much better then the first one to me on you tube!
I haven't really heard much good about it, honestly. Well, that is if you don't like the Smackdown games, as it is very similar to them (being developed by Yukes and all). Also, I didn't buy it because they excluded Pro Wrestling Noah :(
Though, I'm sure it is a fun game, either way. But, if you are hoping for something different from a Smackdown game you might be let down. If not, I say go for it.
It's closer to the Day of Reckoning series, as they share the same core gameplay engine.
I've always felt that it played liked a hacked up version of No Mercy, because it plays similarly, but it has that Smackdown/Yuke's sloppiness to it. I hate the way running and aerial attacks "feel"...so sketchy...if you're familiar with Smackdown's hit detection, then you probably know what I mean. Also, the lack of moves (only 10 grapples, plus some striking animations) and the incredibly dumb AI really hurt it, in my eyes.
I started out as a huge Wrestle Kingdom hater, but once I sat down and gave them a good play, I had a lot of fun with both games. I prefer the first one, as it has the Pro Wrestling NOAH guys and I like it's grappling system more, but Wrestle Kingdom 2's roster has a awesome selection of legends (Hayabusa AND The Destroyer!!!).
Is it worth it? Depends. If you like the Day of Reckoning or Smackdown games, but want a Japanese roster, then I'd say go for it. Otherwise, you aren't missing much if you skip them, in my opinion.
