I like his pants. But he looks pretty damn good! And were u seriuos about that uprising going free thing? Don't get me wrong it would be great but make sure it's not some sort of a scam! Ok?
All I've got to say is I'm glad I have now been made familiar with Scotty Mac. Those YouTube videos were great, and have introduced me to him. I think Darrel and Tim did a great job. His face looks better than any others, IMO.
Oh and Dave...it's ANNUALLY. Keep that in mind! 8)
Re: The Uprising deal. Sounds like a good one, as long as you guys get money to continue development. If that all works out, it would be a great coup.
The recreation of Scotty Mac into a virtual wrestler went pretty well, except he's missing his black wrist tape in those model pictures and in the December trailer. As a playable character, he looks right at home with the rest of the cast, more so than Troop or G-Rush, in my humble opinion.
I look forward to pitting Tirador against SMAC. =)
Not that I know anything about publishing deals, but it sounds too good to be true. Who knows? Certainly, not I...
Thanks for the feedback guys. Scotty actually just dropped by to sign the final release form and he liked what he saw, too. It was the first time he ever saw himself in action in the game and it looked like he got a real kick out of it. Even if we did have him doing a few moves he never does..doh! Gotta get that fixed up.
But yeah, I'm really happy with the results and now I totally understand why the artists prefer to work from good photo reference. For all of the other characters they had to put a lot of the detail in themselves but with photo reference they know exactly how the final character is intended to look.
Wow, I am VERY impressed with the pants. They look very realistic, and very close to the ones that he actually wears. The model of Scotty Mac looks very good, too. But, I am still very impressed with the tights. Great job, guys.
My only concern now that I have seen the face texture and how it wraps, is whether or not that's going to cause issues for the modding community. It seems overly complicated.
Scotty Mac looks better than all the other characters in my honest opinion. If I may be so bold to make suggestion though. Why not get actors as stand-ins and redo the other models? Yes, I know what I'm saying to do here, but it would lend a bit of parity to the game's visuals because I took a quick look at Dane and Scotty together and trust me you can tell.
Why not have a model for the characters to work from a real photo reference. Hey maybe have someone don Tirador's attire and then you could do a contest to give away the mask with a hardcopy of the game?
Surely, that could bring in interest to the game? People love collectible stuff.

It's not really. To be honest there are already tons of real faces out there for us to use with just about that same exact wrapping.
Skins for the Sims and Freedom Force both used the same face structure on the skins. A little bit of cutting and pasting and things should be pretty easy.
eh not so sure about that. models are kinda tricky, i've seen a few in the mdickie games, they must be within the limitations of the original model or the game would crash. plus i'm not sure what program could be used to edit the models in pwx.

The same program they used to make the models.
IIRC, they are using Maya. It's not going to be something EVERYONE can do. Sometimes the mods require special tools and skills. I expect models will fall in that category.
well not everyone has maya. hell no even 10% of the gamers have maya. it's pricey and it's huge on the hd. and i don't remember what program i used on mdickie's.
Mat used 3D Studio Max (6.5, I believe) for most of his MPire games. The files that come with it are .3DS and you can even use them to mod his games, if I recall.
