For example, what is the grapple system going to be like?
How will finishers work? Etc, etc....I asked this around 6 or so months ago, I believe, and it didn't seem like a whole ton of work had been done on it at the time...so I was just wondering if anything new has been implemented or if there are any new ideas going around...
At this current stage this is how the Xbox 360 controller buttons are mapped for PWX:
A = Strikes B = Grapples Y = used mainly for running & climbing X = used for picking up objects & other minor actions
Strikes & Grapples are blocked & reversed with shoulder buttons and the right analogue stick is for taunting.
The only moves done outside of grapples are standard strikes & finishers.
Finishers will work when the opponent has the crap beaten out of them.
Also the button layout on the controllers can be customized. For example, if you want the A button to be grapples & the B button for strikes then it can be done.
Only being able to do your finisher after being the crap out of your opponent makes complete sense. Finishers well finish off the match and should only be able to be executed when your opponent is weak. Off course this means that Specials wont be reversed but...
Well from what I heard you can do finishers whenever. You just arent going to land it on someone who has any concept of the reversals system until you beat the crap out of them.
^^ yea pretty much I believe they are going with a 3 tier grapple system pretty much like Fire Pro Wrestling were the more damage you do to your opponent the more moves you can do..
Maybe I should clarify this statement better: Finishers will work when the opponent has the crap beaten out of them.
Their are no Absolutes...you do not have to always have the crap beaten you of your opponent to execute a finisher but the more damage you do to your opponent the greater your chances of executing a finisher. Sorry for the confusion.
Right. Finishers can be attempted at any time but the odds of them being successful go up dramatically the more crap has been beaten out of your opponent.
Grapple finishers will always be possible even if only a 1% chance at times. Striking finishers like Sweet Chin Music haven't been implemented yet though.
Well you know - if you are both fresh off starting the match and let's say - try a Pedigree -the opponent gets between your knees, but then he lifts you and counters. With the striking finishers - let's say Sweet Chin Music - he lifts his foot, but you grab it,or duck under it,or something like that. It's pretty easy :) There aren't many moves that can't be countered.I don't think there are such finishers...
I think there should be serious consequences for having your finisher countered, that way some guy doesn't just try to spam finishers all match. Like a SERIOUS momentum shift.
I think everytime a finisher is reversed it should be auto-reversed into the opponents finisher, which can then be reversed ad infinitum. How sweet would it be to see HHH go for the pedigree, HBK reverses into the sweet chin Music, and the game reverses it back into a pedigree and it hits.
He said its not implimented yet. It'll be done. The games isnt exactly done yet, lol. But yeah, if grapples and strikes were all that would blow. Dont worry.
I hope so. The fact that takedowns and throws from a standing, ready position are possible for finishers suggests that the same may apply for less damaging moves.
